Saw your comment on BWB about being disappointed in the way your OB office has handled things. I don't know what other complaints you have but I wanted to let you know that with both of my pregnancies (two different doctors in two different states) I had to request the NT Scan. It seems like a lot of doctors don't do it unless you are of advanced maternal age (40+?) or have a family history of Down's Syndrome. Just thought I'd share my experience... though of course, if you are having other issues with them it would be best to switch early on!
Re: **The Big D**
Thanks ladies, I didn't know that.
No, the other day when I was asking about the ultrasound and the n/t was brought up, that was the first I'd heard of it. I just assumed it was a typical thing (and I googled to find out what it was). I'll go ahead and ask this afternoon at my appt, it could just be a "not covered by my insurance" thing.
Thanks for the input!
Thanks again ladies! Dr. was totally ok with doing n/t scan, she stated she just didn't bring it up since I'm relatively young and there's no family history.
I've considered shopping around due to other issues (kinda snotty staff, being told I would have an ultrasound for an appt where I didn't, etc). Thing is, I LOVE my actual doctor, she's awesome. So I think I'm going to stick it out for now and if things go majorly south I'll shop for a new doctor after baby.
