I'm in an unaccountably good mood today, but I'll take it! Happy Friday everyone!

Re: Happy Friday!

  • Good morning! TGIF, indeed! It's been a long week.
  • Happy Friday, indeed!

I was super late this morning because I am quickly running out of clothes that FIT! I am still down in weight (8-9# holla) but my tummy area is just swoll up. I need to do laundry, yes, but I also need more than 5 outfits that I can cycle through. Hmm I went through 3 pairs of tights/hose this morning because one was ripped & one was WAY too tight. THEN I was low on fuel, so I had to stop at West Paces and overpay for diesel. Damn richie area.

  • Happy Friday. I feel ridiculously happy and don't really have a reason why. I'm just going to enjoy it and hope it lasts all day. :)

  • Good morning! I am home sick. The only thing worse than how crappy I feel is all the work I'm going to have to make up from missing one stinkin' day....

Buy a bella band from target.  They are $16 and I wore mine every day.  I never bought a single pair of maternity pants, just wore all my pants with the bella band.  Also, Ross has awesome maternity shirts for CHEAP. . . like no more than $10/shirt.  I loved that store during my pregnancy.

I'm having to find new daycare now.  I absolutely positiviely will not be taking my child back to the place we had her.  Finding daycare blows.

  • I've been meaning to ask you about this. FWIW I almost yanked AJ out of his daycare so many times the first few months he was there. We stuck it out for about 9 months and then finally parted ways.

I felt horrible for making him switch but it has been so much better and he adjusted pretty easily.

If you don't mind me asking, where was she and where have you been looking?

She was at the Kids R Kids on Post Oak Tritt (it's right behind the McDonald's on Sandy Plains).

I hadn't had warm fuzzies about the place after we started.  The teacher in her room wasn't the same teacher who was there when we toured and I wasn't in love with the new girl.  I was frustrated by the fact that nobody ever helped get her stuff ready at the end of the day, very rarely did anybody tell me anything about her day, and 60% of the time her sheet wasn't completely filled out with regards to when she ate.  Yesterday though, the sh!t hit the fan.  My mom went to get her around 1 and when they picked her up they realized she had pooped all over herself.  They take her over to the changing table, lay down one of the sheets that change them on, and then I guess the woman is really rough with her while wiping her down.  Well the sheet slid and she rammed Callie's head into a metal pole that goes around the edge of the counter! WITH MY MOM STANDING RIGHT THERE!  The woman didn't act sorry, didn't try to console my screaming child, nothing.  My mom was so upset she was almost in tears.  Then when I get home I find out they also decided to put baby oil on her scalp because she has cradle crap.  I know baby oil isn't a huge deal but I have never given them permission to do this and I haven't provided any baby oil  to them.

Anyway, so now we are looking at other options.  I went to The Chastain School today and liked it but I'm not sure having her in buckhead is the best option since Clint can't help at all.  We are going to go look at East Cobb Methodist Church on Monday or tuesday.  Other than that I'm still searching.  In the meantime my mom is going to keep her.

and just an FYI - Macy's maternity departments are just contracted through A Pea in the Pod/Motherhood Maternity so you can't ever use Macy's coupons at them.  They are soooooo expensive.

Also, when it gets warmer, just buy some jersey knit dresses and wear them.  I bought a bunch super cheap at marshalls/tjmaxx/ross.  They are stretchy so they fit over the belly and you can still wear them when you aren't all knocked up!!  I seriously managed to spend only about $125 to $150 on clothes to make it through my pregnancy.

I"ll be honest I was waiting to here if it was things that would only bother a new mom (b/cI definitely flipped my sh!t about stupid nonsense in the early days) or more serious and I am LIVID for you over this. I wouldn't hesitate to pull her.

I definitely recommend trying out Primary Prep at the end of Sandy Plains rd. We toured a few times and really liked it, they will even let you do a trial week for free. We are still happy with AJ in the in-home that he is currently at but I think when he is 2 we will most likely move him there.

We thought about the East Cobb Methodist but I can't get there by 5:30 (I think that is when they close).

Good Luck and let me know if I can help.

Wow, that is horrifying!!!!  Harlie has been at The Chastain School for over a year and we absolutely love the school--I love the fact that's she's never had to transition to a new teacher/class they just evolve the class into a toddler room from an infant room gradually to meet the kids needs and they all stay together with the same teachers the whole time.  She's so bonded to her classmates and her teachers and there's only an 8 week range from the oldest to the youngest child in the class.  They recently moved to a larger room that has a potty adjacent to it but it's the same kids, same teachers. There are 7 kids in her class with 2 teachers.  If Callie goes into the youngest class now she'll be in Harlie's old classroom.  She loves to walk by every day and look at the babies.
