Top Chef disclaimer?

I just watched through the ending of the last episode again, and I saw this disclaimer for the first time:

"Winning and elimination decisions were made by the Judges in consultation with producers. Some elimination decisions were discussed with Bravo."

Did anyone else notice that? I never have before! Sooo not surprising, and I bet it's the same deal on Project Runway and the rest of them. It's all about drama, not talent or earning anything. I really shouldn't be surprised at all!

Re: Top Chef disclaimer?

  • I've seen it before and I do think it's on all those types of shows.  a little disappointing when you just KNOW a better contestant was let go in place of someone who creates drama.

  • I've seen that before on multiple reality contest shows. I'm pretty sure they all have it. I get that they want to keep viewership up, but I would rather see truly talented people duke it out than drama.

  • That is standard reality tv competition language.
  • I've kind of figured this was the case for a while yet.  It's still funny that the contestants on the bachelor are confused when their relationship ends after the show.

  • That disclaimer has been on every show of Top Chef. Just noticed it now?
