Ok since we're talking about baby stuff. I am debating if we should use the PnP while he's in our room before we transition him to the crib or get the bassinet for now and get the PnP later on. Is the PnP comfy enough for overnight sleeping/napping if we end up not getting a bassinet since its only used temporarily until they start rolling over? (did that make sense?lol) I thought about just assembling the crib in our room since we have enough space for it, and then just move it to his room when he gets bigger and ready to transition to his own room.
Any suggestions?

Re: Bassinet, PnP, or Crib?
Chloe HATED the bassinet. Loves PnP.
My sisters kids hated the bassinet also.
We used PnP, bouncy seats and swings in the beginning for napping and overnight. Then we went to cribs.
Everyone has a personal preference as to their situation and of course the baby has an opinion too
I guess I can just go straight to PnP since its good to have one anyways from when he gets bigger. If he doesnt like the PnP then we'll do the crib and just move it to his room when he's ready to transition.
Thanks ladies.

Some moms do put the baby in a crib right away. If it works for them, awesome. It didn't work for us as I was BFing and his room was way on the other side of the house. I didn't want to trek across the house in the dark to nurse him at night. I was a horrid pumper and had production issues in the beginning, so there was a lot of night nursing. Plus I felt better having him in the room in the beginning.

Ideally, babies should sleep in the crib since day 1. But some babies don't like to lay flat on their backs, especially if they have reflux. Both of mine didn't, so they slept in the swing or rock 'n play until they were 4 months old. I believe bassinets are for co-sleeping, when you want your newborn right next to yor bed so it's easy during middle of the night feedings. HTH.
Well, speaking from my experience, I never used a PNP of bassinet as I had Macy sleep in the bed with me for the first 5 months. It worked great for us however, I know this is a big no-no.
I never thought Macy was comfortable enough in the PNP. I never bought a bassinet so I can't chime in on that.
Believe me, once the baby comes you will be amazed at how easy you make decisions as opposed to now, when you worry about every little thing

Zoe loved the newborn napper on her PNP. When she got a little bigger, we put her in the PNP on the upper part, and then at 4 months old we transitioned her to her crib with no issues.
Every baby is different, so don't get your heart set on one way. As Mayette said, her girls had to sleep slightly elevated. The bottom line is, put your baby to sleep where you are both comfortable.
I hated putting Zoe in her crib, but we were starting to wake her up after she had gone to bed, and H didn't want her in our room anymore. She had been STTn for a couple months at that point so I couldn't use the night feedings as an excuse.
