Happy Friday!

Morning ladies!

Sadly, Derek is not starting a new job next week.  They don't have enough work to bring on new guys right now, but they did say "call us back in a few months".  His boss wanted to talk to him this morning, and he's pretty sure he and a few other guys are going to be "transferred" out to another company.  I should hear from him soon-ish.  Poor guy was so sad last night.

We did have a fairly productive night though.  I napped, made dinner, we watched Glee and then headed out to Home Depot.  We discovered that we can easily fit at least 34 8 foot 2x4's in the new car.  I will not, however, ever be able to accommodate a 4x8 sheet of drywall.

I need to leave work early today to be home for the guy from the cable company.  How early depends on how my simulations go that I'm running right now.  This one is particularly tricky/fickle, and requires much more manipulation and babysitting than normal. It is a neat one though.  That's usually how it works.

This weekend should be fairly low key.  We might head out to do dinner with Derek's family on Saturday, and then Sunday we'll probably invite ourselves to my parents house for the Superbowl.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

Re: Happy Friday!

  • Raynes - So sorry to hear about Derek.  Hopefully something good will come along soon.

Lastnight was uneventful. The highlight is the boys are finally going down for naps without bottles at DC.  (I know they should be off them, but it has been hard to do) I think we are almost done with bottles completely. (it is only nap and bed that they have them).  YAY!

This weekend we are going out with some friends tomorrow night, and MIL is taking the boys overnight.  I am looking forward to an adult evening. Sunday will be the usual, cleaning, laundry, and Superbowl with the boys. DH has to work Sunday night, so I'll be watching it by myself. (Go Pats!)

    Have a great weekend ladies.

  • raynes, sorry to hear about Derek. Hopefully something works out for him soon.

Yay, Friday! Kyle is going out of town this weekend so I'll have the house to myself. As typical when I'm alone, I've planned way too much to keep myself busy. I have quite a bit of housework and cooking that I want to do. I have plans for Top Chef and dinner and wine with a friend tomorrow. My mom is also coming to town on Sunday for a basketball game. In whatever free time I have I want to start watching season 1 of Downton Abbey since you all have convinced me to start watching. I'd also like to get caught up on my sleep because I've been exhausted this week. And I want to get in several workouts. Most of my plans will be fun but I will definitely be busy!

As of now we have no idea what we're doing for the Superbowl. Kyle's not sure what time he'll be getting back into town and I'm not sure how long my mom will be staying in town. We have a few options so we'll be playing it by ear.

    Have a great weekend!

  • I did manage to get to the gym after work yesterday after work and I was so grumpy for the last part of my shift and after I got home.  I'm really annoyed with a co-worker who said she would help me with my 8 day stretch coming up in 2 weeks.  She said she would work and now suddenly she needs to look into it and won't call me back.  I was also stil angry with the pharmacist who created my scheduling issue in March.  Things are just making me pissy.

We did have 5 good days in a row where Winston didn't mark but now we've caught him 2 days in a row and he tried this morning but Mark caught him. I'm so upset

This weekend I need to get some housecleaning done.  Tomorrow I want to try my first long run on my treadmill and then tomorrow night we're going to a friend's to watch UFC.  My Dad always has us over for superbowl so that is sunday.  He's having chicken wings (which i don't like) and tacos. I kinda want to show up with a bucket of KFC.  lol.  I feel like I need some grease.  Have a great weekend!

  • oh, and yesterday a co-worker looked at my belly, commented that I'm really showing now and can she call me fatso?!?!?  WHAT?!?  Seriously. I told her today how rude that was and she still doesn't get it.  She 'loves my belly'  I have no words.

  • Hope something good comes up for Derek soon!

Last night was day 2 of 30 day shred and my calves and arms are still burning today. We had a easier dinner like always and got some cleaning done. I think the busy week has caught up with me. I fell asleep at 8:30 last night on the couch.

I have a dentist appt today and any vibes would be great. I have a root canal and a filling. I am soooo nervous. DH works tonight and my sister is going to come stay the night to help me with the boys just in case I am hurting after the dentist.

This weekend is going to be quite. I have to go to walmart to pick up a couple of things at some point but its suppose to be raining all weekend. DH is off on sunday so we will watch the super bowl for the first time together.

  • Good morning! This week has been a crazy ride but ended with some good news. DH found a great job and started today. We were struggling with our finances so this job couldn't have come at a better time. Now I just hope to find one myself. No major plans for us this weekend but we hope to catch the superbowl.

Huh? That blows my mind.  Why do people thing because you are pregnant can get away with such comments?  I think you look great, and no woman is a "fatso" while pregant. It is a beautiful thing, it's amazing what the human body can do.  Keep up the great work mama. You look stunning!

  • We finally got some good sleep last night. Thank goodness! Not sure how much longer I could go.

No plans tonight, but that might change, depending on how I feel when I get home tonight. Tomorrow is just some cleaning, finishing up projects, and then out to a dinner for DH's aunts that are turning 50. We were not so kindly asked to not bring Jackson. Well, the whole family will be at the party, so where do you suggest we put him? Yeah...he's coming. Sorry! Although, I am debating just staying home and sending DH to be with his family. At the moment, they're all getting on my nerves.

Sunday we'll be cooking in the morning and prepping for a party. Thankfully our friends are hosting it, and they always do such an awesome job. I'm excited to eat some grub and just lounge with friends.

  • Good morning!

I've been bashing my head against the table here for the last 45 minutes, attempting to figure out why the report card program keeps crashing on me. I have a ton of errors in my reports that need to be fixed this weekend. =S I'm really struggling with exhaustion right now. I'm sleeping 8 hours a night, but it really feels like I could be going for 10-11.

I also have to do my mark calculations for my grade 9 classes, which isn't a huge deal, but it is time consuming. We've got to put together the rest of our Ikea furniture and stuff too!

  • Good morning, ladies.

Sorry about the job for Derek, raynes.  T&P that he gets something soon.

Why on earth do people say stupid things like that, Beth?  'Fatso' is never an acceptable thing to call someone, even joking.  I'm glad you told her she's rude.

Work tomorrow, then shopping, cleaning and preparing for the SuperBowl party we're hosting.  Should be fun - our best friends are coming over and I love being around them.

  • Rxbeth- that woman needs to be slapped up side the head. I can't believe people would think that's ok to say.

Raynes- sorry about Derek. Hopefully something good will happen.

abarber- Yeah for Top Chef and Downton Abbey!

Dora- hip hip horray for your DH! That is exciting. I love when good things happen.

I am really glad it is Friday. I have been busy this week with work and lethargic when I get home. I have a lot of things I need to get done. i.e. study for my exam that is at the end of March. I hope it is beautiful out though so I can study in the park. :)

  • Beth, that's awful.  I can't believe a coworker would say that.

Raynes, I'm so sorry Derek isn't able to move to a new company.  Is the "transfer" at least an opportunity for something better?

Last night was fairly uneventful.  I left work around 6, went to the grocery store, and then B and I had picnic dinner, which sadly isn't as good of a dinner when you can't drink wine, but oh well.

Today, work should be fairly normal, but I have a few things I MUST get to, otherwise I'll have to finish them over the weekend.  Casey is back at the vet today.  He's getting his stitches out, finally.  I'm so excited.  Maybe they will finally let him climb the stairs and we can give him free rein of the house again.  Tonight I'm headed to a friend's for dinner.  Tomorrow should be fairly low key, but I think it may be time for me to start shopping for some maternity clothes.  Sunday is going to be a lazy day and then superbowl at a friend's place.  One of our other friends who will be there is PG and due in May.  We haven't seen them since she was about 3 months, so I'm super excited to see her bump -- I'm sure she's looking adorable.  Plus, we get to finally tell them too.

  • Let's see.  It's Friday, so that's good.  It's almost 11:30 and I feel like I haven't gotten anything done, so that's bad.

We don't have anything in particular planned for this weekend, which is nice.  I may get up and go to yoga in the morning.

Monday, I have a telephone interview at 10:30.  I'm ready to leave here - this job is making me seriously crazy - but at this point in my life, it's harder and harder to jump to something unknown.  I know, totally cart before the horse, but this is how my brain works.

Ooh, good luck Reba! Change is always scary.

  • Good luck Reba!

Today is my LAST day at this job!

Unfortunately the day didn't start off so well, since my truck wouldn't start. I was really hoping not to have to haul a ton of stuff home on the bus, but oh well.

Tonight DH and I are going out to celebrate at a family style dinner restaurant with a fabulous chef. Everyone eats the same thing and you don't know what you're having until you show up.

  • Good morning! We have a snow day today so I actually just got out of bed. No big plans for today, I think the snow is going to keep us inside. I'm going to put some chili in the crockpot and lay on the couch in front of the fire with a book.

We don't have any plans for Saturday either, maybe just some house cleaning and orgagnizing. Sunday we're going to a Super Bowl party at my IL's.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

PS: For any chart stalkers - BFN this morning :( if no AF by Sunday I'll test again.

ETA - So sorry to hear Derek didn't get better news yesterday. Keeping FX something comes up for him soon.

  • Hi all!

Today I had a really nice playdate with a friend of mine from choir. Her little boy is almost 6 years old and he is SUCH a sweet kid. They had set aside some toys and stuff for Darian, and he kept offering to get them for us. Then when Darian was playing on his tummy, the kid lay down in front of him and tried to show him how to crawl. I hope my kid is that nice when he's that age.

raynes - sorry it didn't work out for Derek. Hope something comes up soon.

    reba - good luck!
