Re: BWLO: 2 Year Olds
How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)?
He's actually 2 weeks shy of 2.
What are LO's stats?
I'm not sure of his height, but I do know he weighs 35 lbs.
Where do you stand with potty training?
He seems to have little to no interest most of the time. He certainly doesn't tell me when he is going potty (all though, as we all know, you KNOW when they are popping). We are trying to associate and make more of an effort toward getting somewhere, he does know what it is and what its for, and has pee'd on it a few times. I would really like to see him potty trained before my next kid.
Where do you stand with the big kid bed?
I'm torn. I think he may be ready, he sleeps well in our bed or a strangers for a nap, I'm just worried about the getting out of bed in the night aspect. DH and I have been saying we are going to get him a big kid bed for his birthday.
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake?
I think they're for fake, I agree with Katie, they can be one way or another at any time.
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old?
I'm with the others. I love how much Zac talks, and I love that he's like alittle person and has an opinion and thoughts. I'm amazed at how quickly he learns new things, and that he shares them with me. Just love the boy, he's a great kid!
How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)? Almost 25 months.
What are LO's stats? I have no idea. Going in for her 2 year appointment on Tuesday.
Where do you stand with potty training? Pretty much fully potty trained at home (besides night time) and starting on potty training while out and about--had two successful pees and a dry diaper after our morning outing today!
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? Not even thinking about it. I'm keeping her in her crib as long as possible. She loves her crib, I really think she feels safe in it.
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? So far, I would have to go with fake. Neena has been an amazing two year old!
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old?
Neena Mae. 1/7/10
"A baby nursing at a mother's breast is an undeniable affirmation of our rootedness in nature." - David Suzuki
How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)? 2.5
What are LO's stats? 31 pounds 35 inches
Where do you stand with potty training? If she's naked, she's great. If she has any clothing on at all, including just socks, there are usually accidents. She does pee and poo without problem, but again, has to be naked. I'm working on it a lot more since I've been home and it's okay for her not to wear any clothes.
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? She has one, but still prefers the floor
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? If they're fake, then my child is the spawn of something. I'd like to think that eventually she will grow out of this attitude. Her new thing is screaching at the top of her lungs when she doesn't get her way, which only results in her being closed in her room until she's quiet. I'm hoping eventually she'll realize the shreiking does not work.
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old? I love how vocal she is and independent. It's irritating at times, but it's also great to tell her to get dressed, and she will. Or to have a conversation with her about her day at school. It's pretty amazing.

What are LO's stats? Not too sure. She goes next week for her 3 year visit. Last time she was weighed (about 2 months ago) she was 30.5lbs.
Where do you stand with potty training? Abby is fully potty trained, even wears underwear to bed now. She was PTed at 2 years 9 months. She totally dictated when she was ready and was really aware of when she had to go.
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? She has been in a toddler bed since 18 months when she started climbing out of the crib. We actually still have her in her converted crib. We'll keep her in that until she is a little older and just get her a twin size bed and move her to our current guest room and make her a big girl room!
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? The 2s weren't too bad, but the 3s is more challenging! The closer she got to 3 the more dramatic, defiant she has become!! She is becoming bossy and way too independent!!

How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)? 2 years and 9 months, so closer to 3.
What are LO's stats? Logan weighs 36 pounds, but I have no idea how tall he is now. We haven't measured him in a while. He'll be going for his 3 year check up in about 3 months.
Where do you stand with potty training? DH and I just went out to the store today to buy a bunch of little toys to use as rewards for Logan when he uses the potty. We first introduced the potty training months ago, he ocassionally shows interest, but nothing consistent. So, he's been using the potty whenever DH or I ask him if he has to go, but he usually has a wet diaper when we get him in to the potty anyway. We're working on it!
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? We purchased a Thomas the Train bed off of one of my co-workers. He has slept in it a handful of times. He's been sleeping in the Thomas bed for about 2 months, before that it was his converted crib since he was about 15 months old. He was climbing out of his crib since about 14 months old, so we had to convert his crib sooner than we had expected. I always put him to sleep in his bed, but he ends up coming into my bed every single night anywhere between 11-2 am. When DH works night shift he will only fall asleep in my bed with me b/c he tells me that he is scared. Another working progress!
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? We haven't really experienced the terrible twos. I thought the ones were worse by far. I feel like Lincoln has followed the same foot steps. Logan was definitely more crazy and wild when he was one, he's mellowed out just a tad. Or it could be that Lincoln is just as bad as Logan was, so it makes Logan's behavior seem not so bad now.
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old?
I wish I had the energy that these kids have. Logan is constantly on the go from the second he wakes up to the second he goes to sleep. It amazes me how much energy and strength he has to go all day.
My boring blog
Well, Liam will be two next month...so can I still play?!?
How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)? He will be 23 months on Feb 9, so just 1 month shy of his second birthday! Eek!
What are LO's stats? Honestly, no clue. We haven't been to the doctor since Liam's 18 month well baby. Yay for a sick free winter:) We will find out on his birthday, as his 2 year appt is scheduled that afternoon.
Where do you stand with potty training? Liam is potty training. He is exclusively using the potty at school, for both poop and pee. At home, not so much. We try to put him on there, and he will go but he prefers to sit, read and fool around. Our biggest continues to be that he says "poop" either as he is doing it or right after so we defeating the purpose of the potty!
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? Not ready yet. Honestly, Liam still likes his crib. He has never tried to get out of it, and I am not going to transition him just yet. Might as well wait until he is a little more ready, and Baby #2 is on the way.
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? Ehh, we have had tantrums and such since 15 months or so. So I am not sure what else we may be in store for, however Liam is strong-willed, stubborn, and wild so I am sure things will be crazy.
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old? My only question is how can I already have an almost 2 year old? Where is my teeny )um, not really) baby!
AW: Liam is so smart, funny, and has such the personality. I love him so much, and can't remember what life was like before him.
How old is your 2 year old, (closer to 2 or closer to 3)? 25 months tomorrow!
What are LO's stats? 36 inches tall and 31 lbs. Yep, she's tall!
Where do you stand with potty training? I am waiting for her to be really, really, really ready. She has signs of readiness and I believe if we started now she would eventually get the hang of it, but I'd rather it be a 3-day process than a 3-month process. I worked in a daycare in the 18 month- 3 year old room for 4 years and it was my observation that when the kid is really super ready, it is nearly struggle-free, and that's ideal for both mom and kid. I anticipate that we will start some time this spring or summer.
Where do you stand with the big kid bed? She's in a toddler bed and is really good about not getting out of it at night. Her real big girl bed is coming this week, and she'll get rails for it.
Terrible twos, are the for real? or for fake? I don't know, I think every kid is different. They all go through challenges at some point (like I've heard some say that 3 is way worse than 2, and others say that 2 was hell and when they turned 3 it was like they got a brand new kid)... so who really knows. So far, 2 has been challenging but manageable.
Any other comments/questions/thoughts about having a 2 year old? I love that every day her personality blooms. I love learning about who she is as a little person. I love that we are getting closer to having real conversations about things, and she can tell me what's going on in her head. She sings a lot, and I love listening to her. We cook together. Life is fun right now... I hope it stays that way.
