what is your favorite kind of apple?

we're having twins!
Re: non-clicky poll: apples
i'm currently eating a pink lady apple.. and it is currently my favorite.
starving today.. for no good reason. i want a soft pretzel with cheese.
Honeycrisp - but only at holidays for a special treat.
Hmm...I think maybe Fuji although I finally got my hands on a Macintosh and was in LOVE! But we don't grow them on this coast so they're hard to find (and expensive).
OMG. Soft pretzel with liquid cheese sounds so good.
My favorites are honeycrisp. I tried Junami and Kiku recently and did not like them at all.
Pink Ladies are good but can go soft quicker than Fujis. Granny Smiths used to be my favorites but they give me painful hiccups so no more unless baked.
I like honey crisps, pink ladies, Jazz, and sometimes just want the simplicity of a gala.
You know, it amuses me that elsewhere in the country, they don't think about varietals of apple beyond "red" and "green"?

they don't? plain red or green apples are gross IMO.
i like honeycrisp, gala, or fuji, the most. but really, i'm not picky, as long as it's not the standard apples.

I totally agree. XD But, nope -- when I've lived in Texas and Pennsylvania, they were all just "apples", and people didn't really seem to notice/care about the differences, haha.
my currently-reading shelf:
I think they'll grow in the area but they don't do it commercially. Growing up, we had a macintosh tree and I totally agree. They're amazing!
I don't like apples.
Only in apple pie.
