Sheraton Ka'anapali vs Westin Ka'anapali
Has anyone recently stayed at either the Sheraton or Westin Maui? We hope to book a trip for this fall and are deciding between these hotels. Any tips on which one is the better property?
ETA: We will be staying under a corporate Starwood discount, so other hotels would not be an option for us.
Re: Sheraton Ka'anapali vs Westin Ka'anapali
Between the two, I prefer the Westin. I just think the grounds are nicer and the feel a bit more upscale. I have not stayed at either - my MIL and SILs have stayed at the Westin twice.
There's a Shuttle between them, so check out the snorkeling at the Sheraton.
I think the Sheraton has a nicer location at Black Rock.
They are both nice - can't go wrong but I would choose the Sheraton.

I just got back from staying at the sheraton last week and it was my fav. of all our hotels!
The staff (in my experience) was beyond exceptional. We got shell and flower lei service upon check-in, valet is only an extra $5 a night (on top of your resort fee). I didn't see the Westin pool but really liked the ones at the Sheraton (all connected so you don't actually have to get out of the water to move to a different area).
And the location (right at black rock) is awesome for snorkeling, watching cliff diving, etc.
The one negative was their food bar and grill food (didn't try anything else). It sucked. Hard. Not that I expect a lot from poolside dining, but it was really bad. However, with access to Whaler's Village and other hotel restaurants nearby, it was never a big issue for us.
