DH put non-dishwasher safe part of blender in dishwasher...

I have this: image

I love DH and he was trying to be helpful but when he loaded the dishwasher last night he stuck the lid of the part to the far left into the dishwasher. I went to bed before him, and didn't imagine he'd start the dishwasher so I said nothing.

Now, it says "Not dishwasher safe" but only in French, German, and English. So, that's no good. Can't blame him. What the dickens can I do?  There's water on the inside now...

Re: DH put non-dishwasher safe part of blender in dishwasher...

  • If it's just water on the inside, and not warped or melted, then try sitting the plastic piece in a bowl of uncooked rice, making sure that the dry rice completely covers it.   It should absorb any moisture (hopefully even the moisture that got on the inside).

  • You are wonderful.
    Thanks for the cheap solution.
  • I've heard of the rice trick before, hopefully it will dry out. DH once put part of the electric wok in the dishwasher for some reason. When be went to use it it kept shorting out the electricity in the kitchen. He tried it again a few weeks later and it worked fine, I guess it just needed some time fo dry out. At least your DH has a legitimate language barrier, mine has no excuse!
