What's everyone up to?
Usually I'm just interested in the commercials and the bad/good food, but since it's Giants vs. Patriots, it's a little bit bigger this year up in the North East.
If you're actually interested in the game, who are you rooting for?
Re: Superbowl Plans?
We were invited to a party tonight (my parents' friends from college), but I just don't feel like going. So, we're going to hang out at home, watch the game, eat some dip, poppers and other crap, and then I can pass out whenever I want to.
We're rooting for the Giants. My entire life, the football team of choice for my family has been the Giants. I'm not die hard or anything, but I definitely feel an alliance to them. Plus, now that I coached powderpuff this year, I actually have a clue on what is going on on both sides of the ball, and I'm getting better at seeing the big picture, rather than only where the ball is.
Shazz, do you find that it's mostly Giants fans down by you? I can only assume based on your proximity to NY. I'm sure my brother knows how you feel...he's a Giants/Yankees fan living in Brookline.
We're hosting a party this year. I think it'll be about 3 couples and a couple single guys. We're having TONS of junk food, I'm excited! lol I'm still trying to decide if I want to have a dessert dip or bake cookies or something.
I, personally, have no particular allegiance to either team. I'm in it for the commercials. However, being in NY there are A LOT of Giants fans. Several are coming over today. And it being the military, we also have some die hard Patriots fans. That'll be fun to watch

We're hosting our annual party, too! I'm hungover (you're all surprised by this, I'm sure) and have been watching Lifetime movies and chugging Gatorade instead of cleaning the bedroom and putting on the chili, like I should be.
We'll probably have 20 or so people. H made chili yesterday and I just need to get it into the crock pot to reheat. We're also getting some pizza and wings delivered - super low key. People are bringing apps and booze.
We're not rooting for anyone - I'm totally in it for the commercials. Is the halftime show Madonna?

I'm missing it because of floor set! Surprise, surprise, corporate doesn't care. They'd schedule us Christmas DAY if they could.
If I were watching though, I'd be rooting for Gronkowski, not necessarily his team, because I went to HS with him. Hometown support and whatnot.

We currently have one friend over & we just ate shredded chicken tacos (well the guys did, I ate peppers & beans tacos). I invited our friend over not realizing that it was Superbowl Sunday.
This morning I ran my first 5k. I came in 739th out of 850+ runners @ a time of 46.17. I'm ok with that time. I couldn't zone out like I normally do.
Yeah, it's mostly Giants/Jets. I am used to it though. There's a small handful of Pats fans and we bond together this time of year!
We had a quieter Superbowl gathering, and we didn't host this year, we went next door to our friends' house since we don't have cable and they do. We did buffalo chicken dip and pulled pork sandwiches, both of which were a huge hit.
It was a good game. I'm disappointed, of course, but they played hard and at least it wasn't a complete blowout.
