The conspiracy theorist in me says this was a challenge made for Mondo. Did you see him explain that this is how he learned to sew and design, by taking a bunch of random old clothes, tearing them apart, and rebuilding them into something better? He also managed to find the perfect "muse," That girls fabric might as well have had Mondo, Mondo, Mondo written all over it.
I also really liked what Rami did. I think I liked his design a hair better than Mondo's actually. I would have had Rami win, Mondo second, and Mila third. I thought Austin's looked like it fit kind of poorly and it hung weird. But the judges seemed to love it so I don't know.
I can't believe Jerell didn't go home for that trainwreck. Also, you can tell this was filmed in the summer and everyone was hot. I think their next challenge should be design for a snowy day. Read: "Put some damn clothes on the model, Jerell."
Kenley's dress was weird. I did not like those colored side panels, Kara's look was just boring. And I liked the boldness of what Michael did, but the judges had a good point, that if you're that bold, it better be perfect. I'm glad he didn't go home for it.
Re: Project Runway 2.2.12
I could tell Mondo was going to win just by how the edited it.
Jerell's was horrible and if this had been with the original judges he would have been gone. Can you imagine what Nina would have thought about that??
Rami's was the best one I thought but I love Mondo.
Whoa Jerell, I thought she wasn't supposed to look like a slut? Then the judges liked it except for the lack of clothing throughout the entire midsection. I really don't get these judges--sometimes I can't tell if they like it or hate it because they're so froofy with their comments even when they're criticisms.
I didn't like Mondo's and didn't think he was going to do well--I was actually afraid for him! But silly me, Mondo's the best and I should trust him more.
Kenley's dress wasn't too bad--just a lot of patterns going every-which way. It was definitely a different sort of dress than you'd see on any rack anywhere.
Michael's was totally gross. Just goes to show this kid can be in the top two weeks in a row and then blow it all at once. I like him, but geez. Austin's been known to mess up too, like for Miss Piggy. It seems like Mondo's the only one who doesn't majorly screw up every once in a while. I'm glad Michael didn't get kicked for it though, and actually I'm surprised he didn't. I thought his was worse than Anthony's...but it's my belief that they brought back the show just to have Mondo, Austin, and Michael end up in the top 3. We'll see what happens.
Surprisingly, I liked Mila's. It's her usual black/grey/white colors, but I liked it.
I agreed with the judges--Rami's was cool until he topped it off with the hat. The hat just threw it a little too much.

I'm so sad that Anthony went home, and I have no idea how he disregarded the 50% rule. Especially since he had so much to work with! GRRRR. His outfit was fantastic, way to throw it all away on a technicality.
I could have spit in Michael's face when he did his whole gasping-crying act on the runway after they sent Anthony home. STFU, lameass.
I totally loved Rami's shirt. Loved it.
I wonder if anything will come of the Kenlee/Kara thing.
I love Anthony, I hope he gets a show or something.
Rami's was good. Jerell got lucky (so did Kara IMO)... Mondo's was interesting. But overall, I didn't get all that excited this week.

Thank goodness this was a 2-day challenge. I felt like the runway outfits were so much better than in previous weeks.
I liked: Mondo, Rami, and Milla.
I did not like:
Jerrell, but not for the midriff overexposure. I hated the flags that were on the hips. I hated the print combo. I hated the styling.
Austin: the fit was terrible.
Kenley: her clown dress was well-made but weird looking.
The rest were just meh.
Somewhat related: Sean Avery's made me LOL and not in a good way. Michael needs to stop crying at the drop of a hat. I miss Tim Gunn.
I usually adore Mondo, but I was not digging his outfit. It was too over-the-top Pretty Woman for me. I think that jacket with skinny pants or something would have been more in keeping with his Japanese streetwear inspiration.
Jerrell definitely should have gone home with that disaster. Michael's outfit was awful also, but I knew his history would weigh heavily in his favor. Plus his constant histrionics make for good reality t.v., but I am soooo sick of his gasping and mugging and weeping.
And, I do love Anthony as a character, but what was he thinking to just scrap all that print for the top? I do not understand how he didn't take the 50% requirement into account.
Overall, I thought none of the designs really wowed me. Rami's was good.
Why was Austin Scarlett's model walking so funny? It looked like she almost fell down the stairs, and then she was all stiff-legged and jerky walking back up the runway.
So sad that Anthony is gone, but he ignored the rule -- after they even talked about it in the workroom!
I really like Rami's outfit best, I thought it was more wearable than Mondo's, and it was very cool looking, the tailoring was great. I liked Mondo's jacket but wasn't in love with the shorts, even though I know they are totally "him".
I thought Jerrell should've gone home... that was a mess. I didn't even like the weird bolero thing that the judges liked. It was way too much. Maybe if it had been paired with a simple black dress, and not styled with the crazy high tight ponytail... Maybe.
I also want to know if anything happens to Kenley for helping Kara. I am not a fan of Kara, I'm surprised she is still around, nothing she does is very cute.

Jerell's was sooooo terrible. That is one of the worst outfits I think I've ever seen on PR.
