National Harbor Wine and Food Festival
Has anyone been? It is in early May at the Gaylord. MH and I are considering going and spending the night, and I am curious of impressions of folks who have been before. Thanks!

ETA- has anyone been to the Great Grapes festival in Hunt Valley? We are also considering going to that one, but I like that with NH we won't have to drive anywhere.
Re: National Harbor Wine and Food Festival
I was very underwhelmed last year. (The first year was awesome. Lots of food, no crowds. All sorts of restaurants and food purveyors. Plus really informative lectures, like the Chipotle guy about his restaurant plan. A beer lecture with free glass ware from all sorts of Belgian beers. Oh well. Too bad it's not like that anymore.) It was mostly commercial stuff, basically one big marketing event. I think it's an exaggeration to call it a food festival. There wasn't much food. Most of the food was in the food truck area, where of course we had to buy it ourselves.
I guess someone looking for mainly alcohol might be happier. But again, in the sun with no food doesn't make for a healthy drinking event.
There is the international food and wine festival next weekend hosted by a lot of local restaurants that is really good.

You could check that out
I hate the Gaylord area. So overpriced for parking and restaurants and it's not metro friendly.
