I miss the rice cooker!

XH took it (it was his birthday gift from me one year). I haven't made rice in over 8 months and decided to do some today the old fashion way. Not only did I cook 2 cups of dry rice (so now I have like 4 cups of cooked rice for me alone) but it's overcooked. Arhg. I don't know what to do with all this rice. And a rice cooker is on the list of things to get now. Divorce sucks lol.

Re: I miss the rice cooker!

  • My H took MY kitchen aid mixer to make homemade pizza dough and nothing else.  I bought it or obviously reasons, it's cool and I love to bake.  I was going to make my sweet nephew cupcakes for his 6th birthday party tomorrow but I instead purchased them from the bakery.  It sucks....I really hope to get it back soon!

I've never owned a rice cooker - I assume it is worth it since I can pretty much eat rice daily!

  • I lost my crock pot. I doubt he will ever use it, and has probably already donated or sold it, but it wasn't convenient for him to get back to me cross-country. Sure, they're cheap, but I really liked the one I had!
She's crafty - and she's just my type.
  • My XH took the rice cooker, bread maker, and slow cooker.  The crockpot was a wedding gift from MY friends.  I did get the Kitchen Aid mixer :)
  • A rice cooker is nice. You always get perfectly cooked rice. And they usually serve as steamers too. The crock pot is still in my possession and I plan on keeping it.

  • I lost the tea kettle. He doesn't even drink hot things, he has to put ice in coffee! Oh well.
  • I took all of the wedding gifts but one. His family didn't even attend and the one person who did didn't give us anything. I wish I had taken the coffee maker though, it was from my friends. I wish I had taken the power drill too though.

  • I got very lucky here, XH took very little when he left, and I even kept the really nice panini press my mom got him for christmas. She specifically told me to make sure he didn't take it haha. Silly mom.
  • I miss our coffee/end tables. I searched hi and low for something that I loved and that bastard ended up with them. I would re-buy them but they are discontinued and I cannot find them for the life of me. You have NO idea how mad I am about those damn tables.

  • XH took our 52" Sony LCD and surround sound. I gave him so much crap about buying it (I wanted to pay debt instead) that he will never know how much I miss that thing! I made it almost a year with my 10 year old 27" before I went out and bought a cheap 46" RCA and cheap surround sound...not even close to the same, but it works until I'm back in a house and someday have money again.

  • Farfalla, I can't wait for him to come and get his 3 bigasss TVs (none of them are flat screen and the 3 combined are 50 years old) so I can buy a nice 40" LED LCD. I CAN'T WAIT.

  • I miss my Kitchen Aid too. His grandmother got it for us, but she has one and so does every female in the family but she made a point in saying she wanted it back. He didn't say it, she did.
  • I work at Bed, Bath and Beyond part-time for extra money.  I want to buy everything there!!  A great rice maker there is only $20!
  • I got a great rice cooker at Target years ago for $20 and it had a steamer on it too.

  • I just bought a rice cooker for like $12 on Amazon! Got it last week and have already used it twice. It's the perfect size for just me. But I honestly can't imagine how I ever cooked rice without it. (I see a lot of rice in my future.)

STBXH pretty much let me take whatever I wanted. I took the Kitchen Aid, the Crock Pot, the wine glasses (like he would EVER use those...), a lot of the bakeware... I left a bunch of stuff, too, though. I took only what I actually used/sentimental stuff, and the rest I really wanted to start over.
