New 19 kids and counting has new season ...

19 Kids and Counting has a new season coming up and they filmed during the time that Michelle found out about her m/c. Thoughts?

Re: New 19 kids and counting has new season ...

  • It's sad she m/c.  I'd be interested to see how she and the rest of the family deal with the m/c.

  • It's sad she miscarried but I'm honestly not surprised they were filming. They've become just like any other reality TV family, advertising every single event not matter how sad or private for the world to see.

  • IDK i've miscarried and just wanted to be left alone.  It looks like it airs on Valentine's day to top it :(

It does seem to be a taboo subject so I am kind of glad they are showing it but at the same time I can't believe they did not stop filming.

  • I am prepared to cry.  The way they found out was at their anatomy scan, with a couple of their daughters present I believe.  They had a full funeral for Jubilee as well.

I love the Duggars, was heartbroken at their loss.

  • Does anyone know where I can watch TLC shows online? I love watching the Duggars but I don't have cable.

I'm sure I'll be sobbing too.

    Exactly this!

  • Part of me is interested in seeing how the family handles it but I think another part of me will feel guilty for peeking in on the family during such a sucky time.  And yes, they put it out there and blah blah blah but nobody foresees this kind of thing coming when they sign up for reality tv.

  • It's funny, everyone (I don't mean just on this board) said how great it was when Bill and Guiliana dealt with their miscarriage and IF issues publicly when it's taboo. It seems like there is a double standard for the Duggars.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I admire that they allowed filming during a difficult time, but it's such an emotional event I wouldn't have judged either way.  I was surprised when they did the same for Jim Bob's father's funeral a few seasons back and openly commented on the grieving process.  People handle situations like this differently but most can relate to it on some level.  I don't necessarily agree with everything about their lifestyle but it's their choice, and I find them interesting since they're willing to share the good and the bad moments.

For me, it's because there's been so much on it already. The audio letter particularly seemed like it was more AW than anything else. If they had stuck to just an episode, or even two or three episodes, where the family discussed the loss, how they're coping with it, what this means for future children, etc. I think it could have been tasteful and a way to open up more discussion on the topic. By now, it just seems like the topic has been exhausted.

Although, this could just be because of what happened on some of the other boards in regards to her miscarriage.

  • Watching the preview I teared up.
