I need some help with a baby thing.

I know you all did a double-take on who posted this. Stick out tongue

I have to go to a baby shower. I would like to get a hat for the kid-to-be. It is an inside joke with the father, a very good friend of mine; he always joked that if he ever reproduced, he'd like to name the kid "Hat." It was funny because they never planned to have children. Well, they had an oops and now here we are.

Anyway, so I need to find a baby hat. Kid (a girl) is due in late May and they live in Virginia, so it does not need to be a warm-weather hat. Just something fun. Do any of you have a local Etsy shop suggestion, some other store in town that will not completely overwhelm me (Babies R Us, looking at you), or a gently-used, outgrown hat for a girl that you might like to sell me?

Oh, and the shower is next weekend. So yes, I'm on a time crunch as usual.

Thanks!

  • I've shopped from this site before.

    http://www.etsy.com/shop/Lollipopsandcupcakes?ref=seller_info

It was a bit pricey, however since the mom is also a photographer, I figured she could use it for newborn shoots.

You could try this shop. I think they have local people sell their wares

And of course  Hop Scotch on Cherry should have something.

I have a small Whitecaps hat that I might be willing to part. Big Smile I have to see if I can find it first.

  • It looks like Gap has cute ones. I'm not sure if they carry these in the store.

A floppy sun hat would be good for the summer.

    Ooh, good point. Thanks.

  • I believe Horrock's has a selection of higher end baby things - organic, handmade, etc.  Or they did the last time I was there last year.

  • I checked Babies R Us and they have some cute beach hats for $10. You could do a hat and matching bathing suit.    Big Smile

Just be sure that you get a 3 month size hat, not newborn. NB size doesn't last long.

  • I looked at some of the cute summer hats I have for my daughter and most of them came from "The Children's Place". The spring/summer clothing is coming out now so you should be able to find something pretty easily.

Another option is to check Michaels or Hobby Lobby. They sell baseball hats - even baby size - that you could decorate if you are a little crafty. My husband loved that someone got our daughter a little baseball hat when she was born.

    Good luck! :)
