Where to Live?

Hi Ladies!

I am new to the boards as well as new to the area! My husband and I got married in April and moved up to the Seattle area in August. We are starting to look at homes and our goal is to buy one this year. I would love to get your opinions on areas. We are currently living in the Mill Creek area with my family. We love this area as well as Bothell. Does anyone else live in these areas? My husband's job is in Mill Creek and I work in Bellevue, but my job is at a school so I get lots of time off which makes the commute tolerable. We want a great area/neighborhood and would love to stay in the 200k's. Any input you ladies have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

I would look around Bothell, close to 405 and more reasonable than Seattle. This is probably not very helpful but I wanted to say welcome!

  • I've been hearing from my mom who lives in Mill Creek that you can find some great deals in that area right now, even in Mill Creek proper. I grew up there and really I don't think I could ever go back. It's changed so much. I LOVE West Seattle though!
  • You might want to check out Silver Firs.  The address is technically Everett, but if you go about a mile west, you'll be in Mill Creek, and about a mile east is Snohomish.  The neighborhood was built in sections, so there are lots of different styles/sizes/ages/prices of houses.

  • I agree with staying in Mill Creek or Bothell and checking out the Silver Firs neighborhood.

  • Thanks for the welcome and input! We might look at some new housing developments this weekend and maybe there will be some awesome incentives there!

Jennlin-can you recommend some specific neighborhoods that are great areas in Lynnwood?

    Thank you!!!

hmm..i can't find the redfin listings for them (i'm being lazy), but there is some new condos and town houses if--from mill creek, go toward hwy99 on 164th, and take a right at the new fred meyer.. there are some new constructions town houses there. then right after, take a right, and another immediate right, and there are houses in there. or keep going down that town house road, and there is more new construction on your right....or keep going and there is new construction on your left. (lots!). i love looking at new construction homes.
