10 things you probably don't know about me
There's been hardly any activity on this board lately. It's becoming a message bored (you like that, I'm funny :-P )
So cause I'm taking a break from laundering every textile in my whole house, let's see if I can get this to go anywhere. give us 10 things that we probably don't know about you.
1. I love vampires. Since Buffy first came on tv I was hooked.
2. The books I read are almost exclusively science fiction. I really like the ones about vampires, werewolves and fairies. (Yes, I love Twilight, don't hate, lol)
3. I am afraid of heights, deep water (the first part of Titantic where they're in that little deep water explorer thing gave me nightmares), caves (claustrophobia) and anything taxidermied (yea, don't know where that comes from). Yet I have no fear of any animal. I have a pet tarantula and ball python that live by our bed.
4. My favorite live-action tv shows are Castle, Fringe, Lost, Buffy and Angel, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, My favorite cartoons are Invader Zim and Spongebob Squarepants.
5. I somehow married my dad. My DH and my dad have the same personality, the same likes, and the same sense of humor. What's weird about that though is that FIL is nothing like them.
6. I wear makeup about 6 times a year, but I looove long dangly earrings and wear them even on days where I don't shower.
7. I have a tea shrine in my kitchen. I have about 20 different kinds of tea. I bought a shelving unit from Ikea just to put all my tea and cast iron teapot on.
8. In high school I was a goth kid. I had bracelets half way up to my elbows and only wore black. I also played D&D
9. I have had almost everything above the waist that is commonly pierced, pierced. I took all of them out but the 8 holes in each ear.
10. If I had the money I would have lots of tattoos, but as it stands I only have one. A Claddagh on the inside of my left wrist.

Funny, I also think that I married my dad. Not always sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing.
The board has been super slow lately! I'm glad you posted this idea; it's fun!
1. I've broken all of my fingers at least once, and most of them happened at swim or dance practice.
2. I love to do crafts (which is something most of you probably knew), and I hope to be able to sell some of them someday somehow.
3. When I grow up, I want to be an event planner, especially weddings. I love teaching, but lately I've been having doubts about whether or not it's something that I'll be able to do for the rest of my working life. I love planning parties, and I would love to make that a career somehow.
4. I'm completely obsessed with all things Harry Potter.
5. Even though I teach Reading, since getting my teaching job 2 years ago, I've only read 4 books for pleasure (mostly because I'm always reading classroom novels for work). I love to read, and miss reading books that I'm interested in.
6. If it were possible, I would drop everything and move to London. I have never felt more at home in any place as I did when I was studying abroad in London.
7. If I won the lottery, I would buy an older house with a huge yard. I'd fix up the house to make it my own, and open up a Pit Bull rescue on my property.
8. This is getting difficult! Um... I used to be 100% positive that I wanted kids, but the less confident I grow in our country/world, the less I want to bring kids into it because I'm worried that they won't have the kind of life I want to give them.
9. I have a slight obsession with changing my appearance, as in getting piercings, hair color, etc . Since I'm a teacher, my options are a bit limited, so I settle on getting my hair cut and dyed a lot.
10. I want to move out of Illinois as soon as possible. Preferably, back to Wisconsin.
This board has been super slow!
1. I'm afraid of birds. I was almost hit by a goose on a jet boat going 60+MPH a few years ago. I've also been dive bombed a couple of times for no reason. So I guess the felling is mutual between us.
2. I grew up in the suburbs, but when I was 20 my parents sold the house I grew up in and bought a 10 acre farm. Now when I go to my parents I help care for chickens, sheep, rabbits, turkeys, ducks and the organic garden.
3. DH is my hs sweetheart, we started dating when I was 15 (He was 17) we've never broken up and moved in together when I was 19.
4. I was born on Labor Day.
5. I'm a HORRIBLE speller.
6. I've wanted to be a teacher since the second grade.
7. I've never died my hair.
8. I'm afriad of heights but went bungee jumping for my SIL's 18th birthday. I hated, but I'm glad I went.
9. I played soccer, basketball and lacrosse throughout high soccer.
10. I want to climb Mt. Hood.
I'll play!
1. I lived in France for 3 years. I hope to go back someday, but H is in school right now, so who knows when we'll be able to make that happen. I'm hoping to speak primarily french to our baby, but we'll see how that goes. I haven't spoken it as my main language in about 10 years.
2. I lived in the same house (in the small town where I grew up) from when I was born until post-high school.
3. I met H on match.com.
4. I want to have a whole mess of kids(preferably biological and adopted), but starting at 33 we'll see how that goes.
5. Before moving to SD and becoming a nanny, I taught 1st grade in inner-city Philadelphia for 5 years. I still miss it!
6. My H plays video games, and even though they drive me nuts, before getting pregnant I would play with him because I like spending the time with him. Now I'm just too exhausted!
7. I love to cook!
8. I was a cheerleader in high school, though I also tutored most of the squad. I'm not exactly what you would picture a cheerleader being.
9. I have an undergraduate degree in chemistry, and what I learned from that is that I definitely don't want to be a chemist.
10. I really like watching crappy tv

Fun idea Lex!!
1. I have never in my almost 26 years of life had a driver's license. Driving scares the crap out of me. I have never been in an accident, so there's no logical explanation for my fear.
2. I hate having nail polish on my fingers. It feels like they're suffocating. Clear nail polish is acceptable for a short period of time. Nail polish on my toes is fine.
3. I have a really bad temper - I get it from my dad.
4. Washing dishes and folding/putting away laundry are my least favorite household chores. I would rather scrub the shower and toilets. Sometimes my mom drives 2 hours to our house to hang out and wash my dishes - I pay her with vanilla tootsie rolls. Sometimes we live out of laundry baskets for a couple of weeks before clothes get put where they belong.
5. I have a really bad potty-mouth. Hubs is amazed at some of the words that come out of my mouth. This makes things tricky when I smack my head or stub my toe at work - swearing at daycare in front of 3 year olds is not okay. I've had to come up with some pretty clever substitutes for my typical swear responses.
6. I love comic book/super hero movies (except for Spiderman - he's lame). Hubs is my perfect match because he is an avid comic book reader/major geek.
7. Back when boy bands were big, I was totally Team *NSync. The first concert I ever went to was an *NSync concert at the local 4H fair when I was in 7th or 8th grade.
8. One of my favorite things to do is talk to Hubs when he's sleeping. He says some really hilarious (and sometimes mean) things when he's asleep. Sometimes, I record our conversations on my phone and play them back for him in the morning.
9. We live in my husband's childhood home - we bought it from his parents 2 and a half (ish) years ago. People always ask me if it's weird to live in my in-laws' old house - it isn't (it never really felt like their house after we moved in). The only weird thing about living here is when they come over to visit and let themselves in through the garage (they have a key, and the garage code).
10. I love watching British television shows. My current favorites are Doctor Who (David Tennant/The Tenth Doctor will always be my Doctor - I even have a toy sonic screwdriver) and Sherlock. Chris Lilley also makes some hilarious TV shows.

Right, will try and keep this short.
1. When I was younger my family had a farm and my sister and I had heaps of different pets. Most of the time I like animals more than people.
2. I haven't drunk alcohol for the last 5 years. Sip DH's occasionally, just don't really like the taste or being drunk.
3. DH and I met online and we tell people we met at the post-office
4. I have six tattoos with more planned. None anywhere anyone can see.
5. The thing I am most scared of is the dark.
6. I have a classic car that sits in my Dads shed, not a fancy one, but fancy enough for me.
7. I Love fashion, but can't seem to make it work on me,
8. Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night to eat, not because I'm upset, but because I wake up and am STARVING.
9. When I get tired or stressed my eyelid twitches
10. If I didn't have to work, I wouldn't. I would lunch and shop and get my hair done and be blissfully happy.
1. I've also never had a driver's license. I'll be 27 this year... I'm working on getting it, but man do I hate driving.
2. I don't dot my i's. I picked up this habit sometime in high school and I have no idea why.
3. I have a twin brother. He is one minute older than me.
4. DH was supposed to be a twin, but something happened early in the womb so he isn't. He also has two younger sisters who are twins. I guess this one isn't actually about me. Oops.
5. I wish I could be a SAHW.
6. I've been trapped in an elevator twice. It was the same elevator.
7. I have never broken a bone.
8. I hate winter, so living in Minnesota sucks in that respect. I've been very thankful for our mild winter this year.
9. I don't like making phone calls. Even if it's just to order pizza or something.
10. My left foot is larger than my right. Like, by at least half a size if not more.
Blog
1- I've never lived more than 45 minutes door to door from my childhood home. Even when I went to college and grad school.
2- If I could have a new career I would be a personal trainer. I love the gym.
3- Nothing makes me more happy that shoe shopping. I have 20 pairs of sneakers and too many heels to count.
4- My DH and I met my first day of High School. We didn't date until I waited on him at a restaurant 9 years later and he asked me out with a note written on the check.
5- I was in a sorority in college. I lived in a house with 45 other girls. I shared a bathroom with 12 ppl.
6- My husband and I travel to exotic places and camp out. We've camped on the beach in Hawaii, Caribbean, Keys, and many worldwide remote beaches. Sometimes it's nicer than staying at 5 star resorts. Just you and the ocean.
7- I have zero tattoos. I love the way tattoos look, I just have never liked any image enough to want it on my body for the rest of my life.
8- I don't really watch tv. We don't have cable, and I am never home enough to get into any tv series. Cable TV at the gym is the only reason I stay on the treadmill for so long.
9- I hate adult cartoons- simpsons, family guy, cleveland show, I just don't get it.
10- My husband calls me Jock-Barbie. I played soccer, softball, volleyball and was a cheerleader in HS and college. I can play any sport and hold my own with the boys, but I do it in pink socks, a sparkly hair bow, and full makeup.
