Great Grapes Wine Festival in Hunt Valley

Has anyone been? MH and I are wanting to go for a quick night away this spring, and am debating that festival in June or the National Harbor Wine and Food Festival in May.  I nearly lost my mind at Wine in the Woods this year, it was so crowded so I am curious is this one is that bad? We would stay at the Hunt Valley Marriott if we go.  If you have been to the NH one as well I am curious of impressions.  Thanks!

Re: Great Grapes Wine Festival in Hunt Valley

  • We've gone several times and love it. It's not overly-crowded (we usually go on Sunday though) and there is so much room to spread out, relax, listen to music and drink wine. Lots of great wine vendors as well as crafts and food. It's one of my favorite summer events.

  • I haven't been to either event, but I pretty much assume that anything held at National Harbor is going to be packed.

  • I've been to the Great Grapes Festival when they used to have them in Annapolis and they were great. They not only had tons of local wineries but lots of other US and international wines to taste. I thought it was a great value for the admission fee. I haven't been to the NH one but like Dani said, everything there tends to be super crowded and expensive. If you're worried about crowds at Great Grapes, I would just go right when they open to get in there early.
