Hey-saw your comment. I had to laugh cause I just said to DH that I felt stupid posting that crappy drawing, but I do draw them all.the.time. so they definitely are relatively "easy" for me.
I don't measure-but I spend a lot of time in houses/looking at plans, so I gauge room sizes pretty well. But I think the bigger key is that I "know" what size things are... if that makes sense. Meaning, I know how wide stairs and hallways should be, I know what size doors are, or how much space there needs to be in the bathroom, etc. just because I teach it, so I'm not having to guess at sizes. Does that make sense?
Anyway-I would be happy to do a real floor plan for you if you ever need it-even if you just did a video tour of your house or something, I could probably get close. Just let me know.
Re: *naylon* re: blog comment
I wish I had that "vision'. I went to see a house yesterday that was so nice. It's bigger than ours and the flow is amazing but it's bones are actually very similar to ours and it kind of gave me a good idea of what we might be able to do with ours but I couldn't explain it to Jim to save my life.
I swear, I am going to measure every room some day and draw something up for you so you can help me figure out if we can put a master bath where I think we can, if we can add a 4th br easily and if we can do a kitchen/family room area.
I think we're thinking more seriously of just fixing up our place rather than buying into a 4 BR because more 4BR START at least $200K more than our place.
