I think some of you saw on FB and on Abe's blog that his surgery went well but was kind of traumatic for me.
I don't think it worked.
For about two weeks it looked better, less runny and wasn't stuck shut when he woke up. But now it is super goopy and stuck together a lot. Basically it looks like it used to. After the surgery the doctor said that there was definitely a blockage and that he opened it. I don't know if maybe a piece of skin/tissue grew back over or what.
I'm scared to take him back to the doctor because I fear he will want to do the surgery again...and put tubes in (similar to tubes in the ears). I don't know if I could go through it again.
I don't know the point to the post. Maybe just to vent about it.
Would you do it again?
Re: Abe's eye
I know it's hard but I think you're going to have to take him back to the doctor. If you're uncomfortable, think about how Abe feels. Don't you think Abe would want an eye that doesn't stick shut?
yuck, poor Abe. I'd wait and see if maybe it's because he's been sick? If you notice a pattern in the next week or so I'd call the doctor.
Hopefully it's a fluke.
He goes for a well baby visit later this month so I will mention it to her. I suppose she would have to refer me to another doctor? I've never done this before.
A toddler at daycare had the same procedure done and his mom said that if his nose is running then his eye still runs. Abe had that awful fever virus and is now stuffed up.
If we do have to have it done again I want to do it while I'm still BFing...that saved the day!
