pinterest challenge-share your projects

What have you pinned and made/done this past month? Lets see your projects! If you want to start your own thread later this week too, that's fine. I just like seeing what everyone is doing. Remember to share a photo if possible and your review/thoughts on the project.

Re: pinterest challenge-share your projects

  • I haven't done a lot in the past month, and one is sort of cheating.

I didn't even pin this, I just liked it when someone else pinned it. Then I asked my mom to make me one, and this is it:

Pinned Image Cinnamon pull apart bread.

Basically it is glorified monkey bread. I didn't use her dough recipe...I used a bread machine cinnamon bun recipe for the dough. Then I followed the instructions for the filling. All the melted butter and sugar fell to the bottom of the pan, so the top of the bread was dry, the botton had crystallized sugar. So it was just okay. I won't go through the trouble of making it again.

  • I haven't taken any pictures since it's mostly been food. And hair styles. But I made the chicken crock pot tacos, some egg, bacon and cheese biscuit things, a chalkboard frame (made today, and still drying) and tried some hairstyles I've seen.

  • Most of what I have done are recipes. I don't take pictures of the food, but the ones I really l liked are Taco Pizza (I used regular pizza dough), Buffalo Chicken Tacos (we've had these twice!), and Spinach Lasagna Rolls (I used a meat sauce instead of marinara on top).

The one craft project I did was making my own canvas photo. All in all, I spent about $20 for supplies for a 12x24 canvas. I used a photo that I took in Central Park and I love it! Here is the pin for the method I used. The biggest thing that made is look really good, was to make sure you use matte mod podge (or use watered down Elmer's glue like I did) and take a sponge to the edges of the photo with paint. Oh, and I also painted the edges of the canvas instead of using paper. I like the look better. I'm very pleased with it and have it on our mantle.

I did one house project that I stole the idea for from pinterest. I added shelves to the nook in our hall bathroom. Here is the pin. I took liberties with the idea, but I think it turned out really well and adds a lot to the room.

  • My two projects are craft related.

I made this layout and entered it into a big cardstock maker's template challenge online and was a top 10 winner.  I had this particular sketched template pinned on Pinterest and started working on it in December before the paper company used it as inspiration for their challenge.

I follow a lot of craft blogs and there's one lady who makes super cute banners so I decided to try it out for myself.  I didn't copy any of the banners she made but I used her work as inspiration.  I think she has some with the scalloped edge and I really liked that idea so I incorporated it into my banner.  I should also point out that this has nothing to do with the sex of the baby I am having.  This was for a friend's baby shower.
