Seriously, though, my condolences to you ladies you had your hearts set on a Pats win, and congrats to the Giants fans out there!

Anywho, weekend stories? This week's plans?

Re: Monday?

  • ppppphhhhhfffffffttttttttttttttt.

yeah - the Giants played the better game and dropping three passes in the last minute put the nail in the coffin.  guess  it wasn't meant to be.  i'll live.

looking on the bright side - i'm not at all hungover AND the next game they play?  i'll def have a cold one... or two... in my hand!

this week is pretty  low key... work, gym - tho Sami turns 30 on Wednesday!  LOL  so this weekend we have some fun plans.  Dr's appt on thursday... thinking i'm getting close to the every other week as i'm close the 3rd tri - yikes.

hope you ladies have a good week!

  • I missed the last 4 minutes of the game.  Just couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.  But I'm happy the Giants won (sorry Pats fans)!

My weekend was exhausting.  Baby shower was on Saturday and while it was fun, it was too many people!!  We made quite the haul and are so thankful!

Sunday we went to church, did some cleaning up, ran some errands and then watched the game.

This week is basically nada.  Cleaning up the nursery, going to the doctor, and waddling around.

  • I have to say I didn't really care who won the Superbowl... I guess I should be rooting for the Giants seeing as how I live 15 minutes from the Meadowlands, but, eh.

But, DH and I won $375 in a box pool - whoot whoot! We had Giants 9, Pats 0 so won the first two quarters. We were cheering so loud when the clock ticked down in the first half!

My weekend was pretty good. Saturday I run a ton of errands. Yesterday we had a couple friends over to watch the game, I made a lasagne and some other stuff, that was fun. Not much going on this week... I had my regular OB appointment this morning (I go every 2 weeks now), getting my hair cut/colored tomorrow, chiro appointment Weds, and then childbirth class all day Saturday.

  • *sigh*

Wow, what a game.  I hate that it mattered to me so much.  I'll confess that I was pretty upset when the Pats lost.  I think it just highlights that while I like living in New Jersey, at times I am incredibly homesick for New England.  Continually losing to the NY teams in my favorite game (football) doesn't help.  I had hoped so hard that this would be redemption after four years with a chip on our shoulder.  Apparently not.

So thanks, Danie, for the condolences.  And congrats to you and all the rest of the Giants fans.  The Giants played a good game, and while the Pats did at some times, they dropped the ball (literally) when it seemed to matter most.

    In other news:

Today will be interesting.  Going to see that house again today, and we might put an offer on it tonight.  Stay tuned!

  • Kiki, that's so exciting that you're going to look at the house again.  I can't wait to hear what you guys decide.

We had a pretty good weekend.  Saturday was laundry and cleaning.  We went out to dinner and had an unexpected surprise.  The kitchen apparently messed up one of our meals, and they comped DH $20 steak as a courtesy.  We never once complained about the wait or asked about our food, but our server came out and told us what was going on.  So, since we used a gift card, we only paid $7 out of pocket for a $40 steak dinner.

Sunday was more cleaning and then getting ready for the Super Bowl.  DH's friend stopped by for the 2nd half of the game which was nice.  We hadn't seen them in forever, so it was great to catch up again.

  • Friday I had off from work so I could go to a Dr's appointment. I met up with one of my BFF's from high school for lunch, checking out the outlets, then grocery shopping.  Friday night consisted of making dinner and vegging with DH

Saturday consisted of going to get my car serviced and inspected, then more grocery shopping because I forgot stuff on Friday!  Saturday was pretty low key...cooked dinner, and made my tiramisu trifle for Sunday's game.

Sunday lounged around, did some laundry, and then went to target before the game over at my MOH's house.  Got to see her baby...and she's getting so big and so lovey!  I got slobbery kisses most of the evening!  <3

Today I am dragging because I was up at 4 AM for my internship. blah!

  • Well we had a nice weekend. Dinner in the city w/ friends on Friday at their new apartment. Saturday I did some sewing then DH and I had dinner at the Jewish Deli (LEFTOVERS TONIGHT!!) Sunday I baked all day (of course) and then we watched the game at a friends house. I was pleased with the outcome. I'm not a diehard fan for any team in particular however I always like and root for the local team so I was happy that they won.
  • Blaaaaahh. It was definitely not easy waking up this morning after witnessing such a miserable loss for my Pats last night. Sorry Giants fans, but I just can't stand the Giants - from my side as Pats fan and as a Cowboys fan! So it hurt twice as much! But, congratulations to those rooting for the G-Men - they certainly played the better game and Eli is just clutch. Wow. He came through when they needed him!

I literally did nothing all weekend for the first time in a very, very long time - and I loved every minute of it! I hope that I'll be able to get on here more now that work and life in general is a bit less busy. :)

Kiki- Good luck with the house tonight! Keep us posted!!

Mel - pics from the baby shower - please and thank you :)

  • Saturday I ran 14 miles which was my longest run ever! And I felt pretty fantastic (even though I was coughing for like an hour after). I did an ice bath and didn't even feel sore the next day!

Sunday was heartbreaking. I would be lying if I said I wasn't pissed, but I think the Pats missed some key plays and basically handed the game to the Giants. But I think we WILL beat them one day!

I woke up this morning to a present from my cat! Ugh, second mouse in like 2 weeks. Thank goodness this one was dead and I didn't freak out and wake up DH. I just put a container over it and a book....kitty wanted to keep playing with it.

Needless to say we will be doing a THOROUGH cleaning this weekend.....yuck

  • @ Lori - my friend was cursing you with your 9-0 haha. He had 9-7 and was yelling for the Pats to take a time-out at the end of the 1st quarter so they could score a touchdown. Pretty entertaining stuff.

I am a huge Giants fan so was very happy - what a great game to watch in any event! This week we are starting South Beach Diet at Phase 1 (this is the 3rd time we've done this - kinda a detox after two weeks of eating like total crap!) and I am EXCITED to eat healthy and lose the 5 lbs that I normally do on this plan.

  • Well, I have been MIA this week due to having no internet. We had the Charter guy completely stumped, but luckily he finally got it working.

Saturday morning I had to work. Then DH and I stopped at the pet store to pick up dog food and filters for the fish tank. While we were there we played with puppies that were up for adoption, as well as looked at the fish to get some ideas for our new tank.

Sunday we spent most of the day at the in-laws house. They are remodeling their kitchen, so DH helped pull out the old cabinets and install the new ones. They got a lot done and I am so jealous now. I want new cabinets! lol We also got our federal refund back already and I will be paying off one of my credit cards. We are still waiting for the state refund though. DH wants to use most of what's left to pay some of his credit card, but I would rather save the money as work as been extremely slow for me. So we'll see.

  • Yesterday was pretty brutal...but to start:

Friday night I took the train down to meet my college roomate for dinner in NYC. The restaurant was only two blocks away from our dinner in NYC at the get together! We had a great time and some great laughs.

Saturday AM, my friend and her dog moved in for the weekend since her boyfriend was with my DH in Indy for the Superbowl. We hung out and watched some TV, then went shopping for a bit. Came home and watched Bridesmaids (which she had never seen) and A Lot Like Love. Two of my favorites.

Sunday we watched some of the Real Housewives of OC marathon and kept switching back to coverage in Indy, to see if we could spot our fellas among all the chaos. We went out with my parents and brother to a bar/restaurant to watch the game. We had fun watching but we were very sad with the outcome. I had my Pats jersey on in a sea of Giants fans but that didn't make me shut my mouth any more than usual. I felt so bad for DH that he was there and had to deal with it, but I think he still had an incredible Super Bowl experience.

Super Bowl Monday should be a holiday, even though I am pregnant and didn't drink or anything. I could have still used today as a recovery day!  I gotta get home afterwork and clean, DH will be home about midnight after a very long 12 hour car ride alongside his best friend the Giants fan!

  • @Amanda - That is SO awesome!!! HOLY CRAP! 14 miles! : ) Keep it up!

Friday night a friend of mine brought over some Chinese take-out, and she just hung out with Jeff and I for the evening. We got a blizzard that night! We received about 10+" of snow, and it was the stickiest, heaviest snowfall ever! It looked SO pretty the next morning, though!

Saturday I did nothing but lounged (some laundry) all day! I made homemade lasagna, but for some reason had a brain fart and thought it baked for an hour...it was supposed to be 30 minutes! It still tasted good, but the top cheese layer got burnt, so I think I am just going to take that off (yes, it will just pick up off) and put on some new slices of mozzarella for reheating.

Yesterday I got in a great morning workout, then went with Jeff and a couple friends to a local bar for the Super Bowl. It was fun, but I am exhausted today!

This week is really nothing too much, and this weekend is nothing at all except cleaning the house! : )

So, I just gotta know....did the sick friend come??

My weekend was definitely low key since I was sick most of it.  I was couch-ridden on Thursday, Friday & Saturday; we went over my mom's for dinner and stayed there until about 9:30.  Felt much better yesterday, walked on the treadmill for a bit and went to DN house for super bowl.  Didn't win any money.  Feeling about 90% better today; vacation day for both of us.  Did some shopping/errands and now it's chill time.  Nothing going on this week.  Back to work tomorrow for me and DH off till Wednesday.

  • Ditto Cindy - what happened to the sick friend at the shower??   And yes, I'd love to see some photos :)   So glad you got lots of goodies!!!

Our weekend was ok... Fri night we just hung out at home, Saturday we had plans to go see my friend and her newborn twins, but she didn't feel well and canceled on us.  I was dying to see her, but I also didn't mind spending the rest of that afternoon reading and lazing around instead! We'll try again next weekend.

Sunday was crappy...we got a call from our tax preparer and we are getting NO money back.  We were kinda counting on a big refund like last year so we were so disappointed.  I am embarrassed to say, I was crying over it.  I just feel like we have been taking soooo many financial hits lately :(  We booked our vacation expecting a return like last year, but no such luck.  I am sooo upset.  You know what they say...don't count your chickens

And then we had to replace both toilets because of a leak.  I am just SO over owning a house.  I really am.  This house is a money pit and I curse my in-laws for not doing simple things over the years that would have saved us some headache.  It's tough when you know the previous owner, because it's SO easy to blame them! LOL Thank God for my parents who help us with everything.  My dad is so handy.

Then I chopped a big slice of skin off my finger from a mandoline slicer.  I'll spare you the details, but I was bleeding for about an hour.  It was throbbing all day but it feels better now.

Ok, enough whining for one day.  Thanks for letting me vent :)

  • @Allison: So sorry to hear all the crap for you over the weekend that happened. Maybe your calligraphy business will pick up and help bring in some extra $ to help! :::hugs:::

I was so busy working and looking for flights to Vegas for my Arbonne conference that I didn't get on here yesterday. I've been feeling kinda down in the dumps so I wasn't ready to come on here either.

The weekend was pretty good, Friday was just a low key relaxing evening, Saturday I had my chiro appt and got sushi with my dad. We started with these "special salads" which were TO DIE FOR. They were so amazing and I wish I would've not eaten the sushi b/c it ruined it for me lol. My dad and I had some good heart to heart talks about stuff and I think it did me a lot of good to get it out of my system. I spent pretty much the whole day out (9am-5:30pm?).

Sunday I had an appt to get a bra fitting for a strapless to wear with my BM dress for Brenna's wedding. Apparently I'm a band size smaller and a cup size larger than I thought Surprise It was super snug and I think it will do the trick- though the dress will need alterations to snug it up unless I put some weight on before then (which I hope not!). I went with a friend/coworker to lunch before the appt and she had a fitting at this place and she's also "well endowed" so she knows how frustrating it can be to bra shop. She recommended this place b/c she's getting married and got her bra there and it was a great experience! (The place is called Intimacy)  Went to a hockey buddy's house nearby for the game, that was pretty fun, great to see a lot of people we hadn't seen together in a while.

    I'm glad its Tuesday . . .
