I know these are random, but you guys have been great about other recommendations!
Hair stylist? I've still been getting my hair done on my visits back to Omaha, but figure it's time to find someone here. No preferences, other than that it is relatively close to West Des Moines/Clive/Waukee.
Someone who could install a backsplash in our kitchen? DH doesn't trust me enough to let me try it on my own. Hehe.
Is there an emergency vet clinic anywhere in the DSM area? Just want to have the number in my phone, in the event we need one.

I can answer one question for you: the vet
The only emergency vet in the city is on 63rd streen south of Valley Junction. I believe the cross street is Creston Ave. If you come to Park Ave you've gone too far and need to go back north a block or two.
Their name is Iowa Vet Specialties and their phone number is 515-280-3051.
I would like to find someone to do a backsplash, too, so I hope someone has a recommendation. I can do it and my husband will let me but I really don't want to.

as for vet clinic, most will have someone on call 24hrs a day. I think the emergency vet clinic's are more expensive. So if you find your 'home' clinic, ask if they have someone on call. (I've learned this the hard way!!)

Hair Stylist: Shelley Rooney at Art of Life Salon (515-252-8825)
Backsplash: Tim Sickel (515-770-7296). I believe other Nesties have used him also - I'd highly recommend him as he recently finished our basement and we couldn't be happier. You can PM me for more information.
