Re: The Challenge & Vinny- I am pretty sure this is why... (Sp)

Vinny got sent home right away.

I remember reading about this back in October.  I am sure because of this lawsuit that MTV will be taking any kind of sexual harassment extremely seriously. I think Vinny is definitely a douche for what he did, but I'm sure on other challenges stuff like this has happened and people haven't been sent home.

Also, I don't know when they filmed this Challenge, but I'm kind of wondering if this is why Kenny or Evan weren't on this season.  I mean, I can't remember if Evan has any "exes" but I know Kenny has hooked up with people.

  • That would make sense. I read about the lawsuit a while ago and wondered what happened. If Evan and Kenny were involved I'm not surprised MTV didn't bring them back this challenge. Kenny has hooked up with Johanna that we know of.

  • Dude, I remember Tonya from like, 10 years ago! Wow... but that's shiity. I'm a deep sleeper and my biggest fear is someone doing something inappropriate while I sleep (I can't even imagine being on camera!!).

  • WHEN did all this come out? she was from a while ago - when did she make the complaint? (i read the article, but maybe i missed it?)

TMZ posted this in October, I think the last time she was on a challenge was a few years back.  I'm sure if it really did happened that it was kept hush-hush for a while.  Then I think someone let it slip, she found out about it and pursued it

  • I remember, but I am a big RW fan, and Tanya was the biggest mess.....

She complained about it afte the fact, from what I remember, or the story was released months after it happened.

    Tanya's not a "deep sleeper," she's a drunk.

That's of course not an excuse for someone to DO that to her.

I sort of hate this show and feel they have been asking for something like this to happen because of things like the article points out (if true)...they provide tons of alcohol for the participants of the show, and no where for them to really go--and then take away the women's swimming suits? I mean really?

It's not even fun to watch those shows anymore......same *** every season.....they get all the cast members together, get them wasted, girls make out, guys try to F everything that moves, at least half the show gets in a fight at some point, blah blah blah.....I agree 100% the producers asked for it. No excuse, but what do they expect?

  • I keep thinking about this, and I feel confuzzled...IS there a video? Did Tanya see it? Does she have it in her possession? (I know no one here has those answers of course lol).

Tanya seems like a huge liar who would do a lot for money. Again not to say it didn't happen but and I hate to blame the victim..

But here's the thing: If the producers saw that kind of thing happening, THEY are implicit in a crime too. I mean: no doubt about it, AND they video taped a crime happening...Bunim/Murray is an empire that is linked to MTV. Uhhh...you think they would just let that kind of ish happen? Maybe if they were just some dumb documentarians, but something doesn't add up. I feel like if they DID do something so horrendously stupid, they would have seriously erased the video (probably another crime). Leading me to wonder how Tanya KNOWS if she was passed out and thus no evidence exists...of course someone probably told her..but so what--it's hearsay. It's a hard thing to prove hearsay (I have heard of similar cases where the guy got off because of lack of evidence)

  • Apparently, Tanya came out with this srory several weeks after the fact (I a trying to find the link I read this on).
  • This cant really be true....can it?
  • I can't find the article that I read w/ some factual evidence in it, but apparently the reason the case wasn't filed until last October was because they were working in mediation for a settlement and the case had to be filed by the end of October of 2011 for it not to be thrown out due to a statute of limitations or something like that.  I think the suit started in May of 2010...not sure when they filmed this challenge.

If I remember correctly from the article, the producers replaced a male contestant's (rumor is Wes) toothbrush but didn't say why.  After the alleged incident, Tonya apparently woke up with abrasions and soreness in that area but assumed it was due to the challenge they did the day before.  I guess then someone told her what happened (either that day or a few days later) and I think ever since then, she's been trying to get a hold of the tapes (if there are any).

The contract these people sign is crazy and basically makes them non-employees (and therefore not protected by labor laws).  I think I read that Tonya is trying to establish that she is an employee by CA's labor code regardless of the contract, but I'm not sure.

The thing that bugs me about MTV is that this was bound to happen for a variety of reasons - the alcohol, the way they put them all in some place with no escape and mob mentality seems to be encouraged, but what really bugs me the most is that they always find these really unstable people to put on the show.  It's not all the people, so that makes me think they could have an entertaining show w/out the really unstable folks.  It's just some of them that are always on the verge of a nervous breakdown - and Tonya has always been one of those people.
