If you love your mascara, come in

I need something new.  I have brown eyelashes with blonde at the tips.  They are long but not thick/full.  Used to use Lancome a million years ago, then used Dior Show, then when I was a SAHM I went cheaper and used Loreal Double Extend.  They must have changed the formula or something because it seems to flake more and it is starting to irritate my eyes.

So, if you are happy with your mascara, throw some recs my way!  Price-wise, I'm open to anything from drugstore to Neimans - as long as I like it I don't mind paying more.

  • i loved lancome extencils and then fiberwig for several years but when they changed and it just was not the same. i switched to benefit "they're real!" and so far, i really like it. there is a little bit of a learning curve to using the wand but i like that i can apply it for an every day look or a more dramatic look on special occasions. it may only come in black, not sure if you want dark brown . . . tarte mascara was pretty good but i didn't love it. if i am getting mascara at sephora, i have to love it.

  • I love my DiorShow.  If you prefer the silicone applicator you can go with the Iconic, but I love the original, waterproof verson.

  • I'm a big fan of Benefit Bad Gal Lash. I much prefer it over Dior Show, which I find kind of underwhelming for the hype.
  • My favorites are Diorshow and Benefit's Bad Gal Lash. I wanted to find something cheaper, and several people recommended Cover Girl's Lash Blast. I have to say it's pretty good, especially for the price. I'm sticking with CG for now.

  • I have been using Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes for about a year now and have been happy with it.  I'm always on a quest for the best mascara though lol.  Some drugstore mascaras I've liked: L'oreal Voluminous, CG Lash Blast in the orange tube.

I'll have to try Benefit Bad Gal Lash again.  I had a trial size before but wasn't that impressed.  Maybe I should try it again.

THIS. Finally tried Dior Show a few months ago and yeah, it's good, but I find it really flakes.

For cheap, I like good old Maybeline Falsies. I just got the Falsies Wings version and find it clings a bit too well. I remove make-up at night but find if I don't really scrub at my eyes, then the next morning the curling wand will actually stick and cling to my lashes.

  • If you don't have sensitive eyes I love Diorshow for dramatic eyes, and the CG All-In-One with the curved brush.

However, I am now allergic to both of those so I had to switch to Tarte Brand (Which I do really like, but they aren't quite as great as the brands with all the chemicals. haha)

This is the one I use, but just the regular one. I confess I've never had the compulsion to spend money on anything other than a drugstore mascara. Before this I used the VolumExpress in the dark blue tube by Maybelline. The Falsies one definitely makes my lashes stand out more - I won't say quite as good as false lashes would but more noticeable than before.

I have short blond eyelashes so I like that they have a brown-black color rather than a harsher black.

Bad Gal Lash makes my lashes look amazingly long and full. it's awesome....for the first 20 minutes I have it on, and then it's all under my eyes :-(

I have major issues with it (and most mascaras) running and ending up with black under my eyes--and I my under eye circles are dark enough on their own!

My favorite for a few years now has been Maybelline's Stilletto mascara. It goes on nicely (although not as nicely as Bag Gal) and it stays put all day long...no running.
