Wood floor cleaner ?

I know this was asked here before but I cant remember the answers. We have oak hardwoods thought the first floor and I was vaccuming then moping with olde English for awhile and then I switched to orange glo 4 in 1. But the orange glo smells like earwax to me and I find that whatever dog hair hits the floor before it's dried completely is stuck on them as well as if the floors aren't completely dried they are sticky. I do like the ease of use and how shiny they are once I am done.I know some people do steam mop but I have no experience with that... So, what do u use? How often?

Re: Wood floor cleaner ?

  • I use a microfiber dry mop and orange glo everyday wood floor cleaner. I spray and mop. It leaves them streak free, shiney and it smells great. I'm not sure if that's the exact name, it's def everyday cleaner and is in an green spray bottle.
  • We use Bona and microfiber mop
  • I used to use the orange too daily cleaner but I broke the mop that came with it. Haha for now I use a swiffer wet jet but don't love it. It's hard with 2 dogs a kid and husband.

  • I use the shark steam mop and also orange glo floor cleaner.  It comes in a spray bottle.  I love my steam mop!
  • I think a bunch of people have steam mops. I want one but have not gotten one yet. I have a hoover floor mate and use bleach once a month and mr clean all other times. We have laminate floors.

  • I wanTed a steam mop for the longest time. But after hearing the story Margie shared (about the woman's floors being ruined) I'm afraid.

  • My steam mop destroyed my floors in my condo. I only use it in my kitchen and bathrooms now with the tile.
  • A steam mop can ruin hardwood floors. If there is any space at all between the boards (I'm talking as small as 1/8") moisture can get trapped and start rotting the floor from beneath. That's not to say that it'll happen in every case, but it happens pretty often and that's not a risk I would take. A microfiber mop and some hardwood cleaner works fine. I use Bona now but I have used Method in the past and liked that too.
  • I was always told 1:3 vinegar and water.
