Re: CP: Valentine's Day Dinner
I'll cook. We'll probably have rib eye- marinated in soy sauce/oil/montreal steak seasoning; hoping I can get some giant shrimp, asparagus (for me), mushrooms (for both), and maybe a potato if Dave insists (I'd prefer no).
I'm not sure if we'll do dessert.
I'd like to do something for the kids but I'm still trying to figure out what.
We have school that day so I probably won't do much for breakfast so maybe we'll have heart shaped pancakes for dinner for them.

In the past we have both cooked and gone out to dinner. This year DH is in charge, so I have no idea what the plan is. I asked what he wanted to do and he said "What if I already have something planned?". I said, "sounds great, you're in charge, I'll stop planning". Lol!
I'm so glad not to have to plan anything!

We've made staying in and DH cooking a nice dinner at home our Valentines day tradition, which I really like. I feel like we can splurge on a nice steak, lobster tail and wine for a fraction of the price it would cost in a restaurant (I made a blog post once with the recipe we use here). Plus restaurants are always so crowded around Valentines day, going out just seems more trouble than it's worth.
We keep it pretty low key and don't do gifts or anything, just dinner. We actually met on February 13, 2004, so Valentines day had always been our dating anniversary celebration too. So even though it's a "hallmark holiday," it's still kind of special to us.
I hear this place is amazing, and I've seriously driven past it like a million times, but I've never been there! I must go sometime!
DH will be out of town, so it's just me & the kids.
But I'll probably do w/them what I've done w/DH & myself: we make heart shaped pizzas. We each take a half & put on the toppings we like, it's fun. Then I make a heart shaped cookie for dessert.
DH & I started dating Feb 8th 2002! We combine and celebrate our dating anniversary/vday. We will usually go out the weekend before valentines day since its in the middle of our annivesrary and the holiday itself- to avoid the crowds. On the actual day we want to just stay home with out cuddlebug and have a special family dinner.
For the anniversary celebration this year DH is taking me to dinner- not sure where yet....and to see "the vow" I have been anxious for this chick flick to come out! Nothing fancy just a night out while cuddlebug spends the night at grandma and grandpas. I would not have it any other way.
Awww that will be cute!
My H/I don't really celebrate Valentines Day and since it's on a Tuesday he will be working anyway. I will probably go to bed early lol.
