I'm sure most of you have seen this on facebook, but I figured I would post here as well.
First off, Wyatt weighed in at 19.4lbs, an entire pound heavier than a month ago at his 12 month appointment. He still isn't on the charts, but my doctor isn't even remotely concerned. He told me 'The nurses at the health unit worry about everything, take whatever they say with a grain of salt'. He asked if Wyatt is a picky eater (yes) and offered to refer us to the nutrition specialist at the hospital, so we're going to go talk to her this week. He told me 'She'll be happy to see you, usually she only gets to see fat, old people'. He checked Wyatt out, gave him a clean bill of health and sent him and my MIL on their way so I could have my appointment.
He advised me to quit BFing and to do it fast. His reasons were that being as tired as I've been, and for the amount of weight that I've lost and how much I don't have left to lose I'm not keeping enough nutrients for myself to keep me as healthy as I should be, running after a toddler and being pregnant. I'm really, really sad, and although I know he's right, I'm not 100% on quitting tonight. As stupid as it sounds, I think I'm going to give myself and Wyatt until the 10th to prepare myself, so I know exactly how Lance and I are going to go about it... and then I can honestly say that I BFed him for 14 months. Stupid, I know.
He confirmed my due date of August 24th, and although he was 'not supposed' to look for a heartbeat before 12 weeks, he cheated and found it right away at 150bpm (I pointed to exactly where I find it usually). He only heard one heartbeat (YES!), and it was loud and strong.
I also asked about his opinion having another (this time med free, induction-free birth), he told me he sees no reason why I couldn't have a natural birth. He told me that my 3rd degree tear is likely to tear again, but it could actually be a good thing, because after looking at it today, it didn't heal properly, which is why it still hurts. The only problem with this is that he is only my doctor until 24 weeks, and then I get thrown to the wolves (OB clinic) that actually deliver the babies and tend to have less common sense than my doc.
If only he delivered babies. I would be so much more comfortable.
Re: Appointment Update
Have you thought about hiring a doula to help you with the birth process at the hospital? Especially because you'd like a natural birth..
Even though my Dr. is amazing, we still decided we were going to hire a doula because it's for our peace of mind that we've got someone else to bounce things off of in the delivery room.

I'm so sorry you doctor suggested stopping nursing. It is really hard stopping if your heart isn't there. Do it slowly and gradually and you should be ok physically.
Doula's are the BEST! I loved mine and we have become friends outside of the baby world. Rusty might of like having her there more than me because he was able to leave and feel comfortable doing so. Since my labor was fairly long he had to opportunity to go home and let the dog out and get food and such. It was the best money we ever spent. My doctors office recommends them and they even pay for a portion of her services. It's a win-win!
I'm glad baby 2.0 is growing on track!
