It's date night, so we're going to the seafood store/restaurant on capitol hill.

Is this Taylor Shellfish? Cause I miss them terribly from the Ballard Farmer's market.

We're having kalbi (Korean bbq), rice, and buttered peas.

I wonder if I walk around the neighborhood sniffing if I'll be able to show up on her doorstep. My kitchen is so not getting clean so I have no idea how dinner will get made.

I could leave the light on :)

Though I might only have polenta to feature at that point, DH bought the only short ribs they had and they aren't very big this time.

Haha, no recipe whatsoever. We aren't all gourmet like your H! I misspoke, too, it was loganberry, not blackberry. Sadly, their website is undergoing revamp, but the Loganberry balsamic is from Sotto Voce in Pike Place Market. H just poured a bunch in a ziploc and put in a chicken breast (butterflied to make two thinner pieces) to marinade maybe 20 minutes, then poured the whole thing in a saute pain and cooked it. The balsamic cooked down into a glaze as the chicken sauteed. (He may have added a little balsamic glaze at the end as I noticed that bottle on the counter this morning.)

FCF sells the BEST braising mix...just baby leaves of a variety of grees. Currently it had a lot of rainbow chard plus kale and I don't know what else. We do this simply by putting some olive oil in a saute pan with half a diced onion. Cook the onion down a bit until close to translucent, then toss in the freshly washed greens and cook, tossing occasionally, for about 5-8 minutes. If you want them softer, you can add 1/4 cup water and cover to steam them, but we like them a little harder. Then just finish with some fresh pepper. We don't even usually bother with salt.
