Stupid Car!
Let me preface this by saying I know I'm being completely irrational.
I've had my car since 04' and I've had it paid off since 05'. I'm EXTREMELY attached to the car and the payment-free aspect. I realize that no car lasts forever and I'm forced to face the fact that my car might not last that much longer.
It started overheating on my way home from work (when H just topped it off with coolant) so I take it to get an oil change because it's due for it anyway and H doesn't get off until later tonight.
I get there and they spout off mechanic gibberish while letting me know how much it's going to cost (the ballpark figure) and I start freaking tearing up at the oil change place. I hightail it out of there asap and text H.
He hasn't responded even though I already know what he is going to say.
Boo on car problems.
BTW - I am a crier, but not over stupid shiit like this.

Ugh, that sucks! Being without a car is so stressful and it always seems to happen at the worst times. I hope it gets fixed soon and hopefully it won't cost too much.
Thanks all. I feel stupid getting so upset about this but it was my dads car first and he taught me to drive in that car, I met H with that car, and I just don't want it to die. LOL cue the melodramatics.

We have about a year until we can trade it in. I'm counting the days....I didn't want a Ford to begin with, but it was what we could afford and we badly needed a car. This stupid car is cursed or something, too. I'm sick of it and I want it gone.
I loved my first car too. I cried in the junkyard after I totalled it. I hope it's a quick and easy fix for you!
I agree about Fords. H's Explorer is sitting in our garage and costing us $120 month still. I hate that you have to pay insurance on a vehicle that's concealed and inoperable.
Yeah we have six cars total (including the hot rods) so when I graduate, I get the Tahoe as my car, which is nice.
Ooooh, I might take you up on this when I find out what is actually wrong with my car instead of just being able to give you vague details.
My first car was great until it got hit when it was parked on the side of the road. It got junked and my father bought me another car. That was 2003 and it was a used car.
I still have that car and it runs well. Every fall, we get a big chunk of money together and get everything tweeked on it. MH wants me to get rid of it and get another car but because it was the last car my father bought for me and I don't have a car note I refuse. Since I am currently not in school, I have had no issues this year.
Good luck! I say look around for places that can fix the car for cheaper and make sure to let them know your concerns. They should be able to care for your baby.

My dream car is a Shelby GT 500 Mustang though. H is fine with this because its a muscle car reborn. Lol.
