I had b-pics done by an AMAZING photographer for our wedding, it ended up being as much for me as it was for DH.
I contacted her again because I feel like the experience alone is a good kuddos to me (on my weight loss) plus I can give them to DH for his 30th birthday.
Here's the thing, I contact the photographer again (I really liked her) and she is $550! I swear she was only like $325 when I did them for our wedding 3 years ago.
WWYD?
Do them, just find the money? Use your tax return, help out local business? Find a cheaper photographer, I can still get some good photos, right? Nix the idea...
Cincy girls, it's Tine.

I would ask her if she would honor the price you paid before or meet you somewhere in the middle. We did that with the photographer we used for Trash the Dress pics. Her prices went up significantly when I contacted her for family photos after FIL passed away. So she met me in the middle. It helped that I used her for work-related business and referred her to multiple people.

This completely! $550 would be WAY too much for me.
Ditto these ladies!
I of course love Tine. She did my wedding and my bpics.
However, a friend of mine got into the biz after my wedding and her pics are amazing. Not sure what she charges, but I'm sure it's far less than Tine. She also does marathon sessions as well to keep the cost down.

I agree, if you like her and her work, which it seems you do, then start there.
Call her for a quote (pretend you don't know) and when tells you just be like 'oh wow, it's gone up quite a bit from 2008, huh?" and then just say how much you love her and how much you want to make it work and would she do a discounted rate for a repeat customer - that kind of thing. If not, I'd ask if she has any marathon/mini-sessions coming up or other specials. Barring that I'd just tell her your story - you just lost nearly 50 lbs, etc etc
GL!
First, I think this is a GREAT idea. Second, I agree with everyone else... call her, make her a proposition, see what she says. I hope she gives in a little so you can use her again.
