DH thought this was pretty hilarious
I caught DH laughing to himself over one of his favorite blogs tonight and I thought a few people here might find the entry funny.
Apparently it is sometimes recommended to send a letter of introduction to one's gaining command and this person sent a Powerpoint. The grammatical and spelling errors are simply unbecoming but it was the "forward-deployed in San Diego" part that raised my eyebrows.

I said that about slide 7 too. DH thinks it was a screen shot from the computer game "The Incredible Machine" and that it was supposed to be an animated GIF maybe.
This cannot be real!
I don't know how I would be able to maintain my bearing around this person after receiving their PowerPoint presentation. Wow.

It's funny and all, but I wish it were a white guy instead. I know that sounds dumb, but I know what a minority AA females are in the Marine Corps Officers Corps (obvs she was Navy), and this sort of thing sets women back in general.
Sigh.
And sorry for taking it "there". I know "there" is an unfunny place.
I understand what you mean. I went and read through the 200-ish comments that were posted on the blog and a lot of people thought that it was more sad than funny. It's sad that the people around her let her get to that point without ever trying to teacher her about modesty. They said that most likely everyone was too afraid to say anything to her lest she turn around and report them for harassment or something. I find that attitude very saddening as well, but it's out there and it happens.
Holy crap! DH and I are dying laughing.
