Let's talk about the news, Powell murder-suicide
This story is so tragic, I saw it for the first time while at the gym last night and I seriously stopped and just glazed over looking at the captions on the TV.
What a horrible loss for the family of the mother, and boys.
It is obvious that the father was in poor mental health, as I cannot imagine a world where you deliberately plan the death of your young, innocent sons and yourself; not only that but in a way that is so horrifying.
To me it's clear now that he had something to do with his wife's vanishing. And what a shame that the courts just were making progress to remove those kids from his care.
As a mother, anything involving young kids is just so sad to me now and I wish the mother in this scenario had the strength to leave her husband before it got to this point, sometimes things just can't be worked out.

Such a tragedy. :-( It's crazy to me that someone is actually capable of doing something that horrific.

I didn't read either of those articles to see what they said specifically. I've been watching so much news + day time TV that I am pretty well caught up. haha.
Anyway though, they did say on the news yesterday that the little boys were just starting to open up about what happened to their mom. One of them had said that their mom was with them that night they went "camping" late and she was in the trunk... Dad took her off and came back alone.
What a psycho.
This happened a few hours away from me (and not far from Juslyn), so its been in the local paper a lot. So, so disturbing. Horrible. I can't imagine what the poor mother of the victim is going through, knowing what happened, why, and the other girl's reaction. I was tearing up yesterday just thinking about it.
I agree the Powell thing is really awful. There were so many last-minute warning signs, too.
I can't believe that they now think he unsuccessfully used a hatchet on them to kill them prior to the explosion... I can't imagine the pain and horror those poor boys went through. And yes, I 100% believe it's because one of the boys said that mommy was in the trunk when they went camping.
And about the MO girl... I really do believe some people are just sick, just beyond help. Flameful, I know. But I think she might be one of them.
