BWLO: Doing anything for vday for the kiddos
What if anything are you doing for your LO for valentine's day?
Did your parents do something for you when you were little?
Re: BWLO: Doing anything for vday for the kiddos
my mom always did something special in the morning and in our lunches when we were little. I need to figure out something for Evie... Make her a sandwich cut up in hearts? Get her a new book? Or possibly start getting her melissa and doug wood pots and pans for whenever she gets a kitchen.
ETA day care is doing a party, I signed up to bring fig newtons, but still want to do something special for her lunch

Alex's daycare is having a party on Friday, so I'll take her to that. I want to do some crafts with Alex or some photos with the girls, but who knows if I'll actually get around to it. The last thing Alex needs are cheap toys and candy, so we'll bypas that route this year.
My mother used to get me a box of chocolates, probably did crafty things with me when I was little, but moved on to chocolate as I got older. We're both watching our weight now, so no chocolates this year. Valentine's day is her birthday though, so I'll do something for her in that respect.

My hubs will take Zac out to buy me flowers. A lesson in how to treat a lady, that's the only thing boys need on Valentine's Day.
Cute
She was freaking out about this huge teddy bear balloon at the grocery store the other night so I'll probably go back and get that. She's too young for any sweets or anything and needs no toys.
Mylar Balloons are Evie's favorite! Great gift idea, may have to do that too!

My mom always did stuff for us for all the holidays, even the "little" ones like Valentines.
Taryn gets a Valentines shirt each year, and she got a treat last year. This year, she's getting a small box of Tinkerbell chocolate (like 3 pieces), a Minnie Mouse chapstick, and two Valentine's books (one MMC, one Pinkalicious). Tessa is just getting a onesie since she's so little
Oh, we'll be making foam Valentine's cards for Taryn to give to DH and other family, and we'll probably make heart shaped rice krispy treats that day as DH's "14th day of Valentines". I'll probably make her breakfast/lunch into hearts too.
Daycare is having a party so I'll send something fun with her lunch most likely
Growing up, my dad always was my sister & my valentine. He got us a card & something little, like a stuffed animal or candy, every year up until we had serious boyfriends in high school/college.... We looked forward to it every year
DH plans to do the same for our girls which I love.
My dad would always get my sister and me a little something... candy, stuffed animal, something like that. I bought the boys "Most Eligible Bachelor" onesies at Carters but that's it. I like Trickey's tradition
One of my concerns is raising boys that treat women well. My parents set a great example but my brother still isn't so great to his girlfriends.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
I made her a necklace. I pained big wooden beads with glitter paint--I will have to post a picture
I don't remember my parents doing anything for us.

She gets a small present from us-- this year it's a Toy Story 3 Mr. Potato Head since she loves him. Plus a tiny bit of candy and a card. I will be making her heart shaped cinnamon toast for breakfast.
My folks would do pretty much the same thing minus the gift, so it would be candy and a card plus the heart shaped toast.
