Have You Sailed RCs Allure of the Seas?

MH wants to sail "The BIG Ship" and I worry it is *too* big. 5000+ people? If you have saild her, did you enjoy the experience? Any comments woudl be appreciated. TIA!

Re: Have You Sailed RCs Allure of the Seas?

  • I haven't but we are sailing her sister ship Oasis of the Seas in December. I read up a lot on it and from the reviews I have read, people say that you really don't feel how big the ship is until the crowd leaves after shows, etc.

This is my 3rd cruise but D's first, but we're not concerned with the # of passengers onboard since most say you don't really even feel how large the volume of people there are.

  • I sailed on Allure's sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, just last month. The ship is HUGE and simply fabulous! It's truly beautiful. They did a good job with having multiple events going on at the same time so the crowd was never that bad. No single venue can hold everyone on the ship, so shows are offered several times on different days. If you just wait a few minutes after a show in the theater and cut through the casino, it's not a big deal. The Royal Promenade would get crowded with the special theme parties, usually later at night (and not every night).

There are so many options for dining and it's easy to find somewhere that's not too busy by using the large touch-screen displays by the elevators. The Windjammer buffet was usually the busiest at peak times.

The only other time we really noticed all the people was at Labadee. The beaches were very crowded. Embarkation was a breeze and disembarkation was easy, except for a slow-down due to a customs delay.

Feel free to ask any questions!

    Here are my pics. :)

  • We sailed Allure last May and loved it. There were so many different things to do to keep you busy.  My best advice is to pre-book all the shows because waiting in the will call line is a pain and a waste of time.

It is a very big ship and can get a little frustrating when you forget something in your cabin and you are half way across the ship that is one of the downsides.

  • I loved it! I rarely thought it was crowded. We always found pool chairs. Tons to do, excellent food, amazing service!
