I am gonna have a whine fest and you can't stop me!!

So this morning I stumble up for my usual 3 am pee. I don't use lights other than a nightlight cuz why, I know where to sit. In the bathroom, I notice my feet are curiously wet. No biggie, I think to myself, I am a dork about closing the lid and the Saint Bernard probably got thirsty. I groggily reach for a towel, turn on the light, and holy fuuuuck. My ENTIRE bathroom is underwater. The tank has sprung some gigantic leak and is flowing like a faucet. At this point, I fell in the water, and hit the toilet PERFECTLY on the spot of my back where I injured it years ago. What else could be better?

Oh yeah. The water ran out of the bathroom and warped my 120 year old wood floors in the hallway.

That is all.

  • Oh nooooooooo. That sounds awful. I hope your homeowners covers it!

  • Insurance is covering it, but I had to deal with a plumber who didn't think I knew a thing about toilets "No, it is not the wax seal. NO, it is leaking from the tank itself. NO it is not the wax seal. Look will you just bring a toilet with you so you don't have to go back when you see I am not as big of an idiot as you think I am?"

I bet he shows up with a wax seal.

  • Oh that stinks so bad, sorry to hear that.

Can you possibly rent a small industrial dryer from your local Home Depot? You can just set it up and let it blow the warm air, drying the floors. *my husband and I use it for our paint jobs, when we want to speed up the drying process in the rooms...

    Ack.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
  • That's just a LOVELY way to wake up.  I'm so sorry!

  • That sucks. Times like this are when I am thankful that I rent.

  • Oh that sucks!  I hope your back is all right and your plumber listens to you.  What a way to wake up...  I'm sorry!
