I'd really like to find someone that I can trust (and G likes) that can watch G just an hour or two here and there. Mostly, I'd like to find someone that can come entertain her for an hr (or less) twice a week so I can run. I don't like going to the gym, I prefer to just run at home (on the treadmill or outside). It's just about impossible to find time to run right now...Jeff has appts almost every night with clients, can't run while G's sleeping because our treadmill is upstairs and stinkin loud. I just really want (and need) an hour a couple times a week to work out. I'd love if there was someone in Beaverdale that could watch her but unfortunately we hardly know any of our neighbors. So I was thinking about trying to find a sitter that could watch her. (Sorry for the rambles...this is where you come in Angie!) Didn't you use a sitter company to find someone to watch the girls a few hours a week so you could run errands, etc? How did you like it? Or did you ever use them? Or anyone have any idea how to find someone like that? I know they would be making a lot, but it'd be an easy job ;-)

That stinks that the treadmill is not useable due to noise. I do many of my workouts while the girls are napping. Is it possible to move it? to the garage or anything? I know they are a beast to move, but it would definitely save you the hassle of finding someone and paying them. I also sometimes like to squeeze in a run in the morning before adam leaves for work b/c it feels so good to be done before the day even starts. is that possible for you, or does jeff leave too early?
otherwise, i'd see if you could find a mommy's helper - someone around 12 yrs old perhaps? I'd probably only go this route if I was going to run on my treadmill at home, but it would be much cheaper. i think it might be hard to find an adult willing to come over for less than an hour. we have some 10-13 yr old neighbor girls who have helped me out by watching G a couple of times in the past while I was home getting something done. I bet they'd be willing to come over for $5 even if it was just an hour, which would save you a ton from hiring an adult.
good luck! it is hard to find the time to work out, good for you for trying! Just think, soon it will be nice enough to jog outside w/ G. If you don't already own one, i'd buy a cheap (used?) jogging stroller. the girls and i love going on afternoon walk/jogs to the park on any decent day.
I never thought of moving it to the garage..that's genius idea! I can not wait until its nice enough to run outside. We do t have a jogging stroller but I'm looking for I one on Craigslist.
Sadly, there are no kids on our street that age...guess I'll probably need to suck it up until the snow melts and it gets nice out! It's just so nice the days I actually get 30-1 hr to myself to run (or should I say jog slowly

I used sittercity.com I learned that if you start to sign up and then wait, they'll start taking more and more off of the fee. I think I got down to 50% off before I enrolled. I got some great prospects. In the end though I didn't end up using any of them. Ana just isn't the trusting type.
You're welcome to drop G here at our zoo for an hour or two. Katen has school in the mornings on MWF but T/Th we're free all day, and we never go anywhere in the afternoons. I know that's probably not all that convenient, but the offer is open regardless.
Lisa-yes!! How much do you want for it? I don't want to spend alot because, like you said, I don't know how often I'll jog with G (I'm slow anyway, I can't image how slow I'll be while pushing a stroller ;-))

Not sure how convenient Ankeny would be for you, but you're welcome to drop her off at my place in the evenings or weekends. My boys love visitors, and we're usually around. And I promise she'll know more about trucks than ever before!
lol! Oh yeah. I've got two crazy wild toddlers of my own. (okay one is a preschooler but anyway...) She'd fit right in.
Just throwing this in, but we are in Beaverdale, and if you ever need to do an errand or what not, we would be able to watch G. She and K are almost the same age, so we have the right age of toys and all! It would have to be at night, or on the weekend, since DH and I work, but if you ever need it, just let me know!
