I'm headed to Vegas, mid-late March, if I can get the time off. Maybe 4 days, if I can swing it.
It could be that I'll be going alone, it could be that I would bring someone...don't know yet. I've been there many times, but not in a tourist capacity. Most things would be a new experience.
Where do you love to go to eat? Which hotels/casinos should I stay away from? Any exhibits or amazing points of interest that are free/reasonably-priced and that I wouldn't necessarily find on vegas.com or other websites? Have you been to Red Rock?
Look with your special eyes.
Re: Help me plan a vacation.
Not sure if you have a hotel booked yet but I was highly impressed with the Flamingo. I liked the Stratosphere spinning restaurant, although it was a little pricey. Beyond that, i was 21 the last time I was there and don't remember much oter than drinking heavily, sleeping late, and starting over.
Also-I was disappointed with the Fremont experience. It was a long cab ride for something that lasted less than five minutes. (Although I was later told we didn't see the whole thing.)
The Hoover dam is close, but only do that if you have to rent a car.
There are deals on hotels all the time. That's how we usually pick where to stay. Money talks. I wouldn't stay anywhere east of the Wynn. I would not want to walk over there by myself.
The only thing that I can think of that wouldn't be on websites is the mechanical horse race at the MGM. It's my favorite. You bet on horses based on the odds they show you. It's a quarter a bet and then you get to cheer your horse on. The waitresses are over there all the time and a roll of quarters can last you all night. It's so fun.
Muddled, I'll have to check that out. Sounds like fun! I also love playing bingo, which isn't all that expensive either. Cheapy gambling = yay.
I'd be driving to Vegas, most likely. It's a 6-7 hour trip, not terrible if I leave early in the morning.
