How goes the new rules for lifting routine? I'm thinking of buying the book but wanted to hear what you think a few weeks in.

  • I'll just butt in and say I love it. So much. I'm a little further in than Wendy (about to start Stage 3) and I feel like a mothereffing badass.

  • I like the program, but didn't love the book. It took me a few months to Actually start because it took me forever to get through the frontmatter of the book (mostly the Nutrition)  

    I'm almost done with stage 1 (I have 3 workouts left, including today). I have already seen a big increase in what I can lift and a visual difference. I could post % increases in weight from beginning to end of stage 1.  I took a before picture that i will not ever post, but I didn't take measurements until midway through stage 1. I'll be repeating both of those this weekend. 

    Okla is almost done with stage 3 I want to say.

    Paper!!  The book refers you to other parts of the book by page number which is a PITA on the kindle and it would be much easier to skip past the nutrition stuff in a paper book.

  • I have it both in print and on the kindle. I use the print to review the exercises before the workout and will take the print with me the first few workouts of the stage to the gym. I use the kindle version on my iphone to just remind myself of the order of the workouts.

    It really is so great to be able to increase your weight, and it's a much better workout than the machines.

  • On every lift, I've already seen at least a 67% increase in weight (and some over 100% increase).  Also, I do real pushups now and not girl pushups.

    I still can't do totally real pushups. I can squat 175, though. I have bird arms and thunder thighs.  

  • You guys just convinced me to order this book.  I miss lifting weights and need to get back into it, but don't want to pay for a trainer.
