After everything else with my dining room furniture.....
(Synopsis: we picked out furniture in August. We were going to order it in September so it would arrive by Thanksgiving. DH accidentally spent the money we had put aside for it. I scrambled a little and scrounged up the money and we ordered the furniture in late September. It was "backordered", expected to arrive early December. I called every week from mid-November until early January and they always told me "next week". Mid-January I canceled the order and asked for a refund. They said no. Come to find out, the company is a front for the Russian mob, the CEO is under indictment, and the company is bankrupt. I threatened legal action if they didn't refund the money and *poof* our set is magically un-backordered.)
The shipment was scheduled to arrive today. There is one road that connects this town to San Antonio (the only major city in a 200-mile radius). This morning, a freight train derailed onto the road just outside of town and it's closed until further notice. I got a call from the driver as he was turning around to take the furniture back to San Antonio.
Re: I wish I was creative enough to make this up.
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Not fair!
I'd also go back to demanding your money back.
I think you're entitled to one free facepalm.
No way...the mob doesn't take well to negative yelp reviews.
Yeah this. This is insane that you have been dealing with this for so long. I am so so sorry that its turned into such a mess!
I know this is really frustrating, but you just made me laugh for the first time today. Freight train derailment? That sh*t is so messed up it's hilarious.
Sorry :-(
