Atlantic City recs

If you have been, where did you stay? What is the liveliest area? I am trying to plan a b-party but I have never been to AC. You can go to the beach, right?

Re: Atlantic City recs

  • I've stayed at Trump Taj, Trump Plaza, Borgata, Ceasars and Bally's and another place that I'm blanking on that didn't have a casino.  Ceasars and Borgata definitely were the nicest but TBH, I'm never in my room that much to care.

You don't really want to pal around too much at night unless you're walking along the boardwalk.  The streets can been a little sketchy.  Take a cab if you're going more than a few blocks rather than taking the Jitney (little local bus).  Most of the hotels have clubs/restaurants in them though; I'm not a person that really looks for either though so I can't tell you which ones are the liviest.  The Steel Pier has some great high end shops (it's where Ceasar's is) and restaurants that look out over the ocean and if you're up for shopping, there are outlets at the north end of Atlantic City where Bally's is (I think it's Pacific Ave).

You can go to the beach; actually IMO, it's a little cleaner than OC, MD.  But that's cause I grew up going to South Jersey beaches and to me, OC, MD is a grittier, dirtier sand and I think the water's murkier in OC.

When are you looking at going?

  • If I was going to AC for a bachelorette party I would want to go to either Caesars for the pier, borgata or Harrahs. Harrahs has an indoor pool with huge cabanas and is made into a club at night. Borgata is lovely, though a weeee but pricey and full of obnoxious people, but tons of great club and restaurants. Plus you could stay in the water club which I have heard is amazing (we stopped going right before that opened. Sad).

  • ditto PP - I have stayed at lots of places there - we love borgata but as mary said its like jersey shore on the weekends there - but  really nice for a bachelorette party . If you could swing water club - that is very nice and quiet - I went there for my 30th with 2 other friends and we had spa services and used the spa area to get ready and had a great dinner at old homestead - That was an awesome trip. Gypsy bar is fun - we saw a great band their - split decision - we had an awesome time- it was great to get ready   up their and we had more than 1 sink / shower available to us

FYI the new Revel is opening this march and its on the boardwalk at the end and it will be the new "it " place to go - sooo with that said you might get a deal at borgata or you might wanna try the Revel . check the trip advisory AC forum  as they can be very helpful .

Also check on groupon an dliving social for some deals that they are having for the trump properties - although they may only be for weekdays . Enjoy
