You're always talking about making these yummy soups... any chance you'd share your recipes? This cabbage soup sounds pretty yummy. I need to make more soups, and I need some inspiration!

  • Yes, please!

I was just at the gym today thinking we should have a virtual cooking club, where we all cook one type of meal a week (like soups, or salads, or chicken, or seafood, or whatever) and then everyone shares the recipes online.  :)

Also I get through my workouts by dreaming of food.  I'm not sure what that says about me.

My wedding month board did something like this. We set up a blog and signed up for weeks and then on our week we made whatever we wanted and posted pictures of the meal and our recipes. It was a lot of fun, we kept it going for over a year.

  • i'll totally share! i like things simple so seriously this is what i do. i make one serving at a time and do it before work while i'm getting ready. it is a low cal way to fill up. :)

cut cabbage really thin. i use green cabbage, about 2 cups. put into a few cups of boiling water with a lid. i let it cook on med-high for a while (20mins) until it starts to get soft. i then drain off most of the water. i add 1 cup chicken broth. i use pacific brand organic, free range, low sodium. i then cut up 2-4oz of raw chicken and once the chicken broth/cabbage/leftover water starts to boil, i throw it in. i then add red pepper flakes, cayenne, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and a dash of mrs. dash original. i mix that up, put the lid on, and let it cook. i go back a few times and stir it while i'm getting ready.

it is seriously simple.. and i love it. because i feel like it is hearty and filling while literally only 150ish calories. and it is a HUGE serving.. i don't think it would be everyone's favorite but i really enjoy it. :) and it doesn't even take that long.. i've made it in 30mins or less. i just let it cook because i can without worrying while i'm trying to beautify!
