i bought some at target last night. jennlin- be proud.
i will probably buy myself nicer ones some day but jenn made me feel super guilty like i'm not allowed to buy anything for myself so there you have it.

we're having twins!
Re: f/u to sunglasses
AW, I'm sorry she made you feel super guilty! She's just being true good friend and trying to help you on your goals.
AND...maybe they weren't the super-expensive ones you were coveting, but you still DID get yourself something new! Perhaps that can be one of your rewards for hitting your weight goal? (Besides just the awesome reward of how amazing you've done so far and are continuing to do and how much better its making you look and feel).
Yay! Gold star!
I'm proud of you.
Yeah, but you need those. That's different.
This is really random, but you might want to check pawn shops to see if you can find a good deal on sunglasses there.
When our house got broken into I had 6 pairs of Chanels and a pair of Dior glasses stolen and the cop told me to check the pawn shops in the area to see if they'd turn up. Of course they didn't, but someone could sell something like that for a quick buck.
FWIW, my insurance gave me the green light to replace all of my sunglasses and I still haven't done it. I went to Target and bought a pair of sunglasses to get me through the spring.
let me know if you ever want a shopping buddy. seriously.
TBH, if you wanted nice sunglasses and you had the gift card, there was no real reason to feel guilty if you got nicer ones. You are totally allowed to get yourself nice things every once in a while - you're human!
But the fact that you talked for so long about paying down debt, and got yourself a second job to bring in more money is a huge statement that you are really trying to get yourself financially stable. So I can understand why Jenn said what she did - she was just trying to remind you of what you'd talked about!
But good on choosing cheaper sunglasses - I'm sure there'll be a time soon where you'll feel better about getting yourself something super nice.

the reason i got a second job though wasn't really for the debt paying.. it was to travel this year.
but i guess they go hand in hand. we have a lot of traveling to do and i really don't want to put it on a cc that i've already paid off. i will, so i get rewards, but i'd like to be able to pay it off right away too.
and our debt is getting little and it's exciting!
picks has good points---*but* was it a nordstrom gift card or a visa gift card? if it was a nordstrom gift card, i would've supported you buying sunglasses (i would've preferred you buy them from the rack, but if you had enough to cover the full price of the sunglasses, then yay for you).
if it was a visa gc, then you can use it for groceries, and other things you "need".
sara--i'm not being mean--i just want you to stay on track for your goals!
