  • We never go out on tday. Usually we got to a nicer dinner sometime around Vday. Then that night if Im off 8i cook a nice meal. He usually buys me over priced poor quality red roses. I say thank you, bit then tell him next year not to get them. I rather have a bouquet of mixed flowers bc.roses aren't my thing anyhow. I usually get him a dvd or two. This year is different bc of my whole eating situation. So we won't be going to dinner anywhere. Then and im really kind of ticked about this. His companies annual managers retreat is feb 12-16! Who the hell planned that?! A man obviously. He doesn't get why it pisses me off bc its not like we go out on gray, but at least we are together!

  • We usually go out for dinner and get something for each other. This year, I am not sure. We might just stay home and have dinner there with our little valentine.

  • We usually go to dinner and get something small for each other.  We already had plans to go to a play on the 18th so we may just do dinner that night and let it be our celebration.  We don't typically do anything major, but I hate not to celebrate it at all.
  • Last year I made J swear he would never attempt to take me out on Valentine's day ever again. In the past, we always either stayed in, or went out on a different night that was close by. He took me to some over crowded, over priced place that didn't have any form of a vegetarian option, and I was strictly off meat then. This year I think I'm just going to cook a fancy shmancy meal for the 2 of us and stay in.
  • I'm not anti-V day, but H and I are pretty un-romantic, so we don't go crazy all out.

We are going away though (weekend after) to a hotel that's built into a cave... how cool is that?!

Hope you all have good days too!  MD-- enjoy Annapolis, that sounds awesome!  I love Annapolis.

  • We are working all this weekend, and on Valentine's Day.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that we are playing in the orchestra for Andrea Bocelli on two of his tour dates here in FL.  So, I'm making money and sharing a stage with one of the most popular tenors of the day.  Not a bad way to spend the time...

DH and I are planning on going out to dinner sometime in the next few weeks to make up for not celebrating on Valentine's Day.

  • We normally make a nice dinner at home and get each other something small. This year we're both working on the day itself, and the weekend before. I feel like it's not big enough of a holiday to have it carry over to some other time so it looks like we'll be doing nothing. Which is sad, because I love Valentine's day.

I did get R a little red wooden helicopter that I'm excited about though!

  • We typically exchange cards but that's usually about it. My H doesn't like going out on V-Day b/c restaurants tend to be so hectic and busy. His bday is the end of January and mine is the week after V-Day so I feel like we do enough celebrating around this time of year.

  • I will probably cook something he likes to eat at home. I didn't get Audrey anything either. I might get her a small something or other to give to her on the day.
  • We were talking today about how we'll maybe go out to a dessert cafe that evening for something sweet. We'll probably make dinner, and I'll make a card for H.
