Why?

How come no matter what size I am, my stomach pooks out of shirts when I lounge on the couch?

Re: Why?

  • Extra skin? I often ask myself the same question. I have lost my baby weight, wear my normal pants, but there just seems to be this skin... just sitting there.

  • I think this means you need mom jeans.

  • Confession: I really thought this was going to be an explanation of Pinch It Therapy.
    image Guess who?
  • Should we do a OOTD: Pooch Edition? The other thread seems to have been a pretty big hit, I think we're on to something.

  • I have it on my own good authority that it is because you are short waisted and thus your organs have to fit in less space causing pooch. (do not destroy my illusion)

I'm going on Amazon right now to buy an exoskeleton.

My belly is not looking good - it never looked great, but now it's awful.  Damn kid did this to me.  I have convinced myself that cosmetic surgery is the only thing that will help.

  • I found that pilates made a difference, not that it eliminates the stretch marked saggy skin, but that internal "corset" they talk about does seem to help.  But you have to do it pretty religiously.  I need to get back into it.  My posture is pathetic, unless I'm posing for OOTD in front of a mirror.

  • Do you do a lot of core work? I've found that core work helps (as already mentioned pilates is an option) and that you have to do it all the time.

This is how I feel. I might be able to live with the pooch, but the stretch marks.... oy. If I squish my stomach it looks like a 90 yr olds.

I do a lot of planking and ab stuff on the ball. But I need to do more.

  • I need to start doing more ab work. I used to be pretty religious about it, but now it feels so pointless.  There is no combating the pooch and muffin top.
