Has anyone been? We are planning a trip with our tax return and DH picked there. I can't protest too much since I am going away in summer on the cruise in Europe.
We would fly out and rent a car of course. oh and no camping, hotel/cabin is a must with 2 kids. TIA!!
Re: Yellowstone/Montana
DH is an avid fly fisherman, so that is one of the reasons for going. Also to see the animals, and hike.
I went to Yellowstone and all over that area on a geology trip in college. We stayed in the Old Faithful Lodge cabins, which are literally right next to Old Faithful. There were Bison walking around about 30 feet from our cabin. I don't remember much about the accommodations, but it was fine.
I agree with pp about trying out Jackson Hole and also seeing the Tetons if you can. Nothing I've seen quite matches how striking those mountains are!
