I get this feeling that you are in need of some new black heels?? :-)
Re: **Jaay**
I have no clue where you got a crazy idea like that.
I'm always convinced that heels just aren't meant to be comfortable but I would like to veer away from ballet flats for work, thus starts my search! I like heels and I wear them on the weekends or if I'm going out but I never wear them for a full day of work. I feel like if I get the right pair that might change my thoughts.
You are exactly right - the right pair will change your mind!
I have some pairs of heels that are ah-maz-ing. So comfortable. I know they are expensive - but Cole Haan's feel good. Also if you get a heel that also has a little platform under the balls of your feet, it makes it feel so much better (and you look like you are towering).
Make sure the platform isn't too big though - then you'll look like a hooker. Especially if they are Jessica Simpson, huge platform and just so happen to be red patent leather.
Other good brands: Ann Taylor, Nine West, Worthington (@ JCPenney - I have 3 pairs of these!)
FWIW - based on your pins, I'm digging the Cole Haan Air Taila pump and the Jessica Simpson pumps.
Jessica Simpsons are usually pretty tall though...so if it's your first go at it, you may not be totally comfortable walking in those.
Actually, just buy these. :-)
Glad to hear you like the Cole Haan pumps. I've heard good things from the F&B board. I saw the JS rec from that board as well (and I do like them) but I'm leaning towards the Talia mid pumps since they're lower and would probably suit my needs better.
I actually have a lot of heels, I just don't wear them to work. I have to walk several blocks from my garge to work in the morning, back to the garage at lunch, walk the dog, walk back to work from the garage when I get back, and then back to the garage after work and this all needs to be rather quick. This is all assuming I'm not rushing to meetings in other buildings which is very unlikely.
This is where the comfort becomes important b/c I don't really sprint down the street in heels on the weekends (unless I'm being chased) lol.
With all of that walking - I'd lean towards the mid pump as well. If I know I have to do a lot of walking then I wear flats or mid size pumps as well. Or boots with heels. For some reason, walking in boots with taller heels is easier - I guess because there's not a concern about my foot coming out of the shoe. Very comfortable, too.
Some mid pump sling backs are nice too. Also you could probably pull off some with the pointy toe and mid size pump too. Sometimes the mid pump can look a little middle aged but the right ones look great.
I'll just get the shoes you pictured above. Maybe I'll even get a raise.
I don't always have to walk that much (especially if I go to the gym and don't let my dog out) but I do have to walk if I'm going to a meeting and that's usually when I like to look nice. I think the mid pumps will treat me right or even just the regular talias since I agree w/ you on the middle-aged mid pump thing.
I might wait until the summer b/c now I have the problem that all of my pants are shorts to accomodate my flats. Life is hard sometimes, you know?
Oh, I know. First world problems. *sigh*
I've got a lot of new pants that are shorter too - so I haven't been able to wear my heels like I usually do.
Good luck on your search! I'm itching to go shopping since I've been cooped up for a week... I think I'll do some online shopping soon.
