My baby shower is this weekend. I really don't want to go buy anything else maternity at this point, but I can't figure out what to wear.
I got a maternity dress at Target on super clearance awhile back. I haven't worn it yet so I figured this would be the occasion, but I don't know what to wear with it.
It's stretchy cotton, so pretty casual. This is the only pic I could find online:

We've been unseasonably warm all winter and today we got flurries. I get hot inside though.
I thought maybe I could pull it off with my tan boots (they are about the same color as this girl's vest) and a cardigan, but I don't think I have a cardigan that will work. THe dress is navy and a very brownish-red color.
What would you wear with this if you were me? Or should I just wear the maternity sweater dress that I have instead?
Re: Need fashion help!
And I would just go buy a cardigan, it'd be nice to have if you were chilly but you could take it off if you get hot. Plus, unlike maternity wear you will get your use out of it because you can wear it even when you aren't pregnant.
I agree with Trickey.
As far as cardigans, what about something like this:

I'd probably go neutral or try to pull out the red/orange rather than match the navy.
I have the plus size version of these from when I was pg and I still wear them sometimes. You'll get a lot of use out of it.
That dress is super, super cute! I like the idea of tan boots with it (or ballet flats, like trickey mentions if it's dressier).
If it's casual - do you have a jean jacket you could wear? A small investment in a cardigan wouldn't be a bad thing. Maybe a red color or yellow?
Sorry I posted and ran-had to get to class.
I have a lot of cardigans-I just didn't think any would work. I have red, but it's brighter than the dress. I have cream, but it's cable knit and pretty conservative. White, but it's long and I think it would be frumpy... haha. Lots of black, but I don't think that black would work probably? Or would it? I could do black with a black boot or ballet flat?
No gray. No navy. No yellow or orange. I have fuschia, green, peach, etc.
I think the black cardi with the black ballet flats would be best based on what you have, but I'd have to see it on to be sure.
