Job hunting now that we are back in the US
I am just posting because I am finding this whole situation rather crazy and slightly funny. DH and I moved to England in November of 2010 for a year for his job. I had to leave a job I really liked but I was willing to give up for the opportunity to live abroad. Right before we left I found out the non-profit I worked for was going through a shake up so in some ways I thought it was great timing to be leaving.
Fast forward to January 2012 we are back in Seattle and my old company approaches me that my old job has opened up if I was interested in applying. I thought great; they reached out to me so I it would be a pretty quick process since the current person was leaving February 1st and it is the departments busy season. Well long story short I have now had 3 interviews and they said today "they would be in touch when they have narrowed it to the final candidates about scheduling another interview." While I don't mind having to interview for the job it is getting crazy I mean 4 interviews for a job I did for 3 years. I have met with HR, the person who would be my manager, her manager and the department VP, at this point I don't know who is left to meet with but I guess they think there is something left to ask me.
Can I move back to England now where I only had to work part time and had awesome travel opportunities

That is really annoying that you have to interview so often for a job you already had! I mean, if they specifically asked you back, then I would think the hiring process would be a little easier. They know how you work, so either they want you or they don't! Has the management changed since you left? If it's a different boss then maybe I could understand, but if it's the same one? Come on!
Hopefully they make you an offer soon :-)

I should have mentioned that because of the shake up it is all new management. The person who would be my boss worked there before but in a different capacity but the others (her boss and the VP) I have never met before. The VP did mention on the phone that he has "heard good things" about me.
Oh well at this point it's just what it is. I've only been looking for 2 months but I'm ready for the job hunt to be over. Not because I'm going nuts not working I just hate writing cover letters and looking for jobs to apply for.
