Las Vegas Restaurant for Group?

14 of us are going to Vegas to celebrate a friend's birthday next week. On Friday night, I need to make reservations for dinner somewhere. We are all staying at Caesar's Palace, so would prefer somewhere within walking distance. Also looking for somewhere moderately priced, variety of food because we don't want to eat heavy pasta (as an example) and be too full to go drinking afterward. We were originally thinking sushi, but one member of the group is pregnant, so the sushi idea is out. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

ETA - no buffets, since we will probably do buffets for brunch while we are there.

Also, any other recommendations for restaurants or bars that you love are appreciated!

Re: Las Vegas Restaurant for Group?

  • I went to Mesa at Caesar's with a pretty big group and it worked fine. But I would book something ASAP since you're going over a holiday weekend.

  • I don't have any recommendations for restaurants inside of Caesar's Palace but I do think that Strip Steak (Mandalay Bay) is a good option for a large group. You can easily take a cab to MB from Caesar's. Additionally, you can purchase a $50 gift card to the restaurant for only $20 on restaurant.com: http://www.restaurant.com/rdc/mandalay-bay-resort-strip-steak-las-vegas-steak-restaurant-rid=413436?&mcn=00117831

During our stay two weeks ago, we also ate at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon (MGM) and Le Cirque (Bellagio) for dinner. Both of these restaurants were on the smaller size so they probably wouldn't work well for 14 people but the food at both was AMAZING! Two of the best meals of our lives.

In terms of bars, we didn't get a chance to have a drink at The Chandelier (inside the Cosmopolitan) but next time we will! It looked absolutely gorgeous. It is a multiple story bar surrounded by a beautiful giant chandelier.

  • We had our rehearsal dinner at Diablo outside Monte Carlo on a Saturday night and could get a reservation for 18 a few days out. It was relatively cheap compared to other options.

Strip steak that previous post suggested is good as well.

Check out opentable.com it can probably give you a better idea of cost and availability.

  • Mesa Grill in CP is one of my favorite places in Vegas.  Good food and cool atmosphere.

  • We went with a large group to PJ Clarkes in the Forum Shops at Caesars and it was actually really good.  Serendipity is right in the front of Caesars and may be fun for a group.

There's also a Planet Hollywood and Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops.

Next door at the Mirage there's BLT Burger, BB King's Blues Club and Carnegie Deli.  For a really fun, fantastic meal (but a bit more $$) check out Stack in Mirage.  We love going there with a group. Stack has a great, reasonable priced pre-theatre deal as well.   http://www.mirage.com/files/stack_pre_theatre.pdf

  • Jaleo for tapas - not cheap but not terribly expensive. Sugar Factory at Paris for yummy drinks, light food if you want, etc. With your group, timing will probably be key (i.e., I imagine earlier would be more feasible).
  • Mesa or Rao's at CP. (We were just at both a couple of weeks ago and thought they were delicious.)

My other suggestions would be Olives, the Todd English restaurant, next door at Bellagio, or Tao at Venetian.

  • I've done group dinners at Mon Ami Gabi at The Paris and they took really good care of us. Also Sushi Samba at Palazzo is good with a group - there is a lot more on the menu than sushi...it's a Japanese/Brazilian fusion restaurant.

I haven't been to the one in Vegas, but have been to the ones here in DC a few times and Jaleo is good with a group. You really can't go wrong with tapas in my opinion.
